A $650,000 Class Action Settlement was settled in 2023 with Kirk's Natural, LLC over their "South of France" soap products. The Kirk's Natural class action lawsuit alleged that naming the products "South of France", or having French translations, misled consumers into the origin of manufacturing of the product. In fact, the soaps are produced in the United States, when the advertising and marketing implied that the South of France products were produced on a coast in France.
