The Novavax securities settlement is no longer awaiting approval. The court granted final approval in May 2024, and the official administrator now states that distribution has been sent. The deadline for new claims was May 18, 2024.People who did not submit a timely claim cannot use this news page to enter the closed settlement. Claimants with questions about a submitted claim should use the official administrator's website.

What Was the Lawsuit About?
Investors alleged that Novavax and certain executives made materially false or misleading statements about the company's ability to manufacture and commercialize its COVID-19 vaccine, which allegedly inflated the price of NVAX common stock. The defendants denied wrongdoing and agreed to settle without admitting liability.Who Was Included?
The approved class generally covered investors who purchased or otherwise acquired Novavax common stock from May 11, 2021 through October 19, 2021 and were allegedly damaged. The court-approved notice and plan of allocation control all eligibility questions.How Were Payments Calculated?
Payments were not a flat amount per investor or per share. The plan of allocation calculated a recognized loss using transaction dates, purchase and sale prices, and other rules. The net fund was distributed pro rata among valid claims after court-approved fees, expenses, and administration costs.What Does 'Distribution Sent' Mean?
It means the administrator reports that the distribution stage has occurred. It does not reopen the settlement or guarantee that every person who bought Novavax stock receives a check. Only timely, valid claims recognized under the allocation plan participate.Sources
