What's the Car Dealership Antitrust Settlement About?
This $129,500,000 class action lawsuit involves allegations that CDK Global, LLC and The Reynolds and Reynolds Company allegedly conspired together to charge unlawful prices in the markets for Dealer Management System (“DMS”) services and Data Integration Services, violating certain specific federal antitrust laws and certain state antitrust and consumer protection laws. This price gouging may have led to more expensive cars for American consumers, with the antitrust practices leading to limitation of competition, and thus restricting lower prices.
What is the Total Settlement Amount?
The total settlement amount is $129.5 million, with CDK agreeing to pay $100 million plus $250,000 for notice and administration costs, and Reynolds having previously agreed to pay $29.5 million in a 2019 settlement.
How Do I Qualify For a Payout?
To potentially qualify for a payout, you must be a U.S. auto dealership that purchased DMS services from CDK and/or Reynolds between September 1, 2013, and August 15, 2024. You must also not have excluded yourself from this class action settlement by November 7, 2024.
