A nearly $5 million class action settlement has been settled with MasterCorp over their treatment of Colombian housekeepers. This class action lawsuit alleges that MasterCorp subjected Colombian housekeepers to unfair and unlawful practices, including working long hours without overtime pay and immigration-related wrongful conduct.

The class action lawsuit claims violations of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and various state wage and hour laws, as well as discrimination based on national origin and common law fraud and negligence.

How Much Can I Get Paid?

Settlement Class Members who file a valid and timely claim will receive an equal share of the Net Settlement Amount. The Net Settlement Amount is the $4,950,000 Settlement Amount less attorney fees and reasonable costs, service awards, settlement administration costs, and any applicable taxes.

If all 205 estimated Settlement Class Members file a claim, each will receive 1/205 of the Net Settlement Amount. If fewer Class Members file a claim, payments will increase equally on a pro rata share, but there is a cap at 5/205 of the Net Settlement Amount.
