What Happened?
The Illinois Attorney General alleged that DoorDash used customer tips to help satisfy guaranteed driver pay while consumers believed tips would increase earnings above that amount. DoorDash denied the allegations and maintained that its former pay model was fair and transparent.Who Was Covered?
Eligible Dashers completed deliveries in Illinois from July 2017 through September 2019, were paid under the Pay Guarantee Model, and received tips allegedly used to satisfy guaranteed amounts.What Benefits Were Available?
