What is the Family Dollar Class Action Lawsuit About?
A landmark class action lawsuit has been reached with Family Dollar, which will provide $25.00 Family Dollar gift cards, once approved, to qualifying class action claimants in valid states that are affected by the settlement. Family Dollar is a major brand owned by its parent company, Dollar Tree, that has been opening up stores at a neck-break pace for the last several years, operating over 16,000 stores in North America.
The Family Dollar class action lawsuit alleged that rodents were present and contaminated a major Family Dollar distribution center. The distribution center in question is the one located in West Memphis, Arkansas. To qualify for a payout from the class action settlement, you must have purchased a product that could have potentially been impacted by Family Dollar's Memphis Distribution Center.
While Family Dollar has not acknowledged any wrongdoing as a matter of the 2023 Family Dollar class action settlement, Family Dollar ended up closing hundreds of stores when they found out about the rodent infestation at their Memphis Distribution Center. After a major fumigation of the Family Dollar warehouse, over 1,100 rodents were reported to be found by the FDA. The distribution center is set to reopen after renovations as of November 2023. The Family Dollar recall and class action has reportedly cost Family Dollar and Dollar Tree over $34 Million so far.

What Can I Get in the Family Dollar Class Action Settlement?
If you believe that you are a qualifying Family Dollar Settlement Class member, you can submit a timely and valid claim to receive a $25.00 Family Dollar gift card. If the class action receives final approval from the class action Court, Family Dollar will only provide one (1) $25 gift card per household. You can use the gift card to purchase any product other than tobacco or alcohol at any Family Dollar location in any state in the U.S. The Family Dollar gift card will never expire, and cannot be used with other promos, rebates, or discounts.
Please note that in class action settlements such as these, the payout may be lower than the originally anticipated amount. The actual payment amount may be reduced if the total amount of valid and timely claims submitted is more than expected when setting the estimated payout initially. The estimated $25.00 per Family Dollar gift card payment amount is anticipated and may be adjusted based on the number of claims, and is contingent on the class action settlement being approved.
