What's the $3.5M HomeAgain Class Action About?

HomeAgain, a popular pet microchipping and recovery service, has agreed to settle a $3,500,000 class action lawsuit over allegations that some of their business practices misguided consumers into paying for subscription plans they did not need for their microchips to function properly.

Intervet, the owner of HomeAgain, and part of Merck Animal Health company, has agreed to the $3.5 million class action settlement after allegations were made that HomeAgain misrepresented the necessity for microchipped pet owners to pay for the HomeAgain membership or premium service.

The HomeAgain class action lawsuit did not allege that the microchips are unsafe or ineffective or that HomeAgain's pet recovery services are ineffective. Rather, the central thesis of the class action is that HomeAgain misled consumers with deceptive marketing and sales tactics.
