What is the iPhone 7 Class Action About?

A $35 Million Class Action Settlement has been agreed upon based on allegations against iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus phones. The iPhone Class Action Lawsuit argued on behalf of consumers who used smartphones, alleging that iPhone 7 models had certain audio issues related to "Audio IC” chips, claiming the audio issues to be violation of consumer protection laws and breach of warranty.

The iPhone 7 Class Action Lawsuit is centered around the Audio IC unit of the iPhone 7 models, or the integrated circuit audio chip in iPhones. The claim, according to the Apple Settlement, is that the audio unit had a bad connection of some of the parts of the logical circuit board of certain iPhones, causing microphone or speaker functionality to drop or to stop altogether. Some consumers reported that the speaker button would be grayed out during phone calls, or that voice-activated Apps such as the voice memo app would stop working due to the iPhone 7 audio chip soldering and faulty connection manufacturing.
