A nearly $3.8 Million class action settlement has been agreed upon with Peacock streaming over allegations that they violated certain California consumer protection laws. The Peacock streaming class action lawsuit alleges that Peacock TV LLC violated California's Automatic Renewal Law (also known as the "ARL") by automatically renewing its video streaming subscriptions and charging customers' payment methods without providing the required disclosures and authorizations.

What is the Total Settlement Amount?

Peacock has agreed to a $3,742,637.14 settlement fund to resolve claims that it violated California's Automatic Renewal Law. This fund will cover payments to eligible class members, administrative costs and attorney fees.

Peacock has also committed to improving its subscription practices for California customers by:

• Clearly displaying automatic renewal terms on checkout pages
• Obtaining affirmative consent for automatic renewals
• Providing cancellation instructions in acknowledgment emails

How Do I Qualify For a Payout?

You may qualify for a payout if you enrolled in an automatically renewing Peacock Subscription using a California billing address between September 15, 2019, and February 27, 2024, and were charged and paid renewal fees in connection with such subscription.

How Much Can I Get Paid?

You can receive a pro rata cash payment from the settlement fund, estimated to be approximately $18.33. This may be adjusted once all valid and timely class action claim forms have been submitted.
