What's the Subaru Fuel Pumps Class Action About?
Subaru has settled a class action lawsuit over allegations that some of their vehicles had defective fuel pumps. This class action lawsuit claims that certain Subaru vehicles are equipped with Denso-manufactured low-pressure fuel pumps that may contain a defect. The same Denso fuel pump defect is behind the Toyota & Lexus fuel pump recall, which now spans more than 6 million vehicles worldwide.The Subaru fuel pump lawsuit asserted that some of Subaru's car defects may potentially have caused fuel pumps to malfunction or become inoperative, which is why the settlement was agreed upon as a way to pay for violations of various state consumer protection statutes, among other payouts to consumers.
General Motors settled a similar $35 million class action involving faulty fuel injection systems in certain GM and Chevrolet trucks. The GM settlement is closed to new claims; its deadline was July 21, 2025.
How Do I Qualify For a Payout?
To potentially qualify for a payout, you must be a class action settlement member who owns or leases a covered Subaru vehicle, which includes certain cars equipped with Denso fuel pumps :• 2018-2020 Subaru Impreza,

In order to possibly qualify you must also have incurred out-of-pocket expenses to repair or replace a fuel pump of a qualifying Subaru car that were not otherwise reimbursed and that were incurred before the expiration of the time to appeal from the Final Judgment approving the Settlement.
