What Was the CRT Class Action About?
The CRT open class action settlement is closed to new claims as of July 2026. A $33 Million Class Action Lawsuit has been settled regarding Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT's). "CRTs" are (or used to be) extremely common in households and offices since they were the most popular form factor for TVs and computer monitors. The CRT class action lawsuit alleged that certain CRT manufacturers, such as Mitsubishi, conspired together in order to set high, monopolized prices for CRTs sold to consumers, leading intentionally to much higher prices for TVs and computer monitors.This is just the latest, newest class action settlement in a series of lawsuits that have added up to nearly $600,000,000 in CRT class action settlement funds. How Do I Qualify for the CRT Class Action Lawsuit?
The $33 million CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) settlement with Mitsubishi accepted claims through June 13, 2023. The deadline has passed. How Do I File a Claim in the CRT Class Action Settlement?
Claims for this phase had to be filed by June 13, 2023. The filing period is closed.How Much Can I Get Paid?
A minimum payment of $10 will be made to all valid claimants who file on time. The maximum payment that will be distributed is capped at 3 times the estimated damages done to each person in this settlement. Please note that these plans for distribution of money are subject to changes the court, judge, and any appeals processes result in.Payments will be made to qualified class action members who file a legitimate claim form on time. These payments will be determined on a "pro-rata" schedule, meaning the amount that each person gets paid will be determined by the total amount of valid claims filed and the types of CRT monitors or TVs to be reimbursed. Since the different types of CRT TVs and monitors get paid differently, based on their sizes (size of screen) and other factors, the final payment amount can vary. Until all claims have been filed and checked, it is impossible to know how much money will actually be paid to each person that files a valid claim form in the CRT settlement.
