This settlement resolved class action lawsuits alleging that the defendants packaged their boxed candy products in oversized packaging with nonfunctional empty space (so-called "slack-fill"). The parties agreed to settle; the Court did not decide that the defendants did anything wrong. The claim deadline has passed, so this page is now for informational and status purposes only.
No. The claim deadline has passed. If you are looking for settlements you can still file, see our list of open class action settlements.
The settlement class covered U.S. residents who purchased one or more cardboard boxes of the covered candy products — Raisinets, Buncha Crunch, Butterfinger Bites, Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, Rainbow Nerds, SweeTarts, Spree, Gobstopper, Sno-Caps, and Runts — between February 9, 2013 and September 23, 2021.
Class members who submitted a valid claim could receive $0.50 per unit of covered product purchased, up to a maximum of 16 units, or $8.00. Payments were issued after the Court granted final approval and after the time for any appeals ended.
