The Sara Lee class action lawsuit alleged that Sara Lee products were marketed as "All Butter Pound Cake" although they contained soybean oil in addition to butter. The class action claim form deadline has passed as of October 11, 2022.According to the original lawsuit allegations, consumers that purchased Sara Lee All Butter Pound Cake were misled and unaware that the product contained certain shortening ingredients such as soybean oil. Sara Lee Frozen Bakery, LLC has not accepted any wrong doing and denies the allegations of the class action lawsuit. However, they have settled in order to avoid any further litigation and court proceedings to avoid a resource waste away from its core business of producing and marketing food products.
