California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) Notice
Last Updated: May 10, 2026 · Reviewed annually as required by Cal. Civ. Code §1798.130(a)(5)
California Notice at Collection: We collect personal
information such as your name, email address, and IP address to respond to your request and operate
the website. For more information about the categories of data we collect, how we use it, how long
we retain it, and your privacy rights, please review our CCPA / CPRA Notice below. You may
request to know, delete, or correct your personal information at any time by contacting us at ccpa@openclassactions.com or
privacy@openclassactions.com. We do not sell personal information for
money, but some of our analytics and advertising integrations may constitute "sharing" under the
CPRA. You can opt out below in one click, and we automatically honor the
Global
Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request.
This California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") Notice supplements the information contained in our
Privacy Policy and applies solely to residents of the State of California.
OpenClassActions.com ("we," "us," or "our") provides this notice to comply with California privacy laws,
including the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act
of 2020 (CPRA).
Your Rights Under the CCPA
As a California resident, you have specific rights regarding your personal information. Below is a summary
of your rights and how to exercise them:
1. Right to Know
You have the right to request that we disclose the following information about our collection and use of
your personal information over the past 12 months:
• The categories of personal information we have collected about you
• The categories of sources from which we collected the personal information
• Our business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling that personal information
• The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information
• The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
2. Right to Delete
You have the right to request that we delete any of your personal information that we have collected from
you, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and verify your request, we will delete (and direct our
service providers to delete) your personal information from our records, unless an exception applies.
We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers
to:
• Complete the transaction for which we collected the personal information
• Provide a good or service that you requested
• Perform a contract between us and you
• Detect security incidents and protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity
• Debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing functionality
• Comply with a legal obligation
• Make other internal and lawful uses of that information compatible with the context in which you
provided it
3. Right to Correct
You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you,
taking into account the nature of the personal information and the purposes for processing it.
4. Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing
You have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information to third parties.
Under the CCPA / CPRA, "sale" includes disclosing personal information to a third party for monetary or
other valuable consideration, and "sharing" includes disclosing personal information for cross-context
behavioral advertising purposes.
What we do: OpenClassActions.com does not sell personal information for money. We use third-party
analytics and advertising tools that may receive pseudonymous identifiers, which may qualify as "sharing"
(and in some configurations, a "sale") under the CPRA's broad definitions. The
Sale or Sharing of Personal Information section below lists exactly which
categories of personal information are involved and which categories of third parties receive them.
How to opt out (any one is sufficient):
• Click the
Opt Out of Sale & Sharing button at the top of
this page. Persistent for one year via first-party cookie.
• Enable
Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser. We honor it automatically with no
further action.
• Email
ccpa@openclassactions.com with the subject line
"Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." We do not require account creation, identity verification,
or any other personal information beyond what is strictly necessary to honor the request.
Important — opting out of sale/sharing is not the same as unsubscribing from email.
The button above, the Global Privacy Control browser signal, and an email request to
ccpa@openclassactions.com all disable analytics and
personalized advertising on this browser. They do
not unsubscribe you from any newsletter or
other email subscription you previously joined. Email subscriptions are governed by the federal
CAN-SPAM Act and have a separate opt-out path. To stop receiving emails from OpenClassActions.com,
click the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, reply with the word
STOP, or email
info@openclassactions.com with "Unsubscribe"
in the subject line. To delete your email address from our records entirely, submit a
Right to Delete request as described in Section 2 above.
5. Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information
If we collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, financial account
information, precise geolocation, or health information), you have the right to limit how we use and
disclose such information.
6. Right to Opt-Out of Automated Decision-Making
Under the California Privacy Protection Agency's automated decision-making (ADMT) regulations, you have
the right to opt out of, and to request information about, the use of ADMT to make decisions that produce
legal or similarly significant effects. As described in the
Automated Decision-Making and Profiling section below, OpenClassActions.com does not
use ADMT, profiling, or AI-driven decision systems on consumer data, so this right does not currently apply
to our processing. We will update this notice if our practices change.
7. Right to Appeal a Denied Request
If we deny all or part of a Right to Know, Delete, Correct, Limit, or Opt-Out request, our response will
explain the reason and tell you how to appeal. Appeals can be submitted by replying to the denial email or
by emailing
ccpa@openclassactions.com with "CCPA Appeal" in
the subject line. We will respond to appeals within 45 days.
8. Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA,
we will not:
• Deny you goods or services
• Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services
• Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services
• Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or
quality of goods or services

interactive form on the website
•
Automatically from your device — technical information such as IP address, browser type,
referring URL, and pages viewed, captured through standard server logs and analytics tags
•
From advertising and analytics partners — aggregate or pseudonymous identifiers used to
measure and report on advertising performance
•
From publicly available sources — when researching settlement administrators, court
filings, and class action notices for editorial coverage (none of this is consumer-identifying)
How We Use Your Personal Information
We may use or disclose the personal information we collect for one or more of the following purposes:

Cookies and Tracking Technologies
OpenClassActions.com uses cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the website. These
tools help us improve site performance, analyze traffic, remember user preferences, and deliver relevant
content.
We currently use:
• Google Analytics cookies. These cookies measure traffic patterns and website performance.
• PHP session cookies for basic site functionality such as navigation and load balancing.
• Advertising and analytics cookies from Google used for aggregated performance reporting.
We do not use cookies to store Sensitive Personal Information or payment data. You can control cookies
through your browser settings or opt out of Google Analytics by using their browser settings tool.
Sensitive Personal Information
We do not collect or process Sensitive Personal Information as defined under the California Privacy Rights
Act. This includes Social Security numbers, driver license numbers, precise geolocation, financial account
numbers, racial or ethnic origin, health information, or biometric data. Because we do not collect Sensitive
Personal Information, the right to limit the use of this data does not apply to OpenClassActions.com.
Retention of Personal Information
We retain each category of personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the disclosed
purpose, then delete or de-identify it. Specific retention windows:
| Category |
Retention Period |
| Newsletter subscriber name & email |
Until you unsubscribe, plus up to 30 days for unsubscribe processing and suppression-list
management |
| Contact-form / inquiry submissions |
Up to 24 months after the inquiry is closed, for follow-up and reference |
| Server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) |
Up to 90 days for security and abuse investigation, then deleted or aggregated |
| Analytics data (pseudonymous identifiers, page views) |
Up to 14 months in Google Analytics, then automatically expired |
| CCPA / CPRA request records |
24 months after request closed, as required to demonstrate compliance under 11 CCR §7101 |
Where a fixed period is not practical, the criteria we use to set retention are: (i) the purpose for which
the information was collected, (ii) any legal-hold or recordkeeping obligation, and (iii) the sensitivity
of the information.
Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
OpenClassActions.com
does not sell personal information for money. We do not exchange any consumer's
personal information for monetary consideration. However, we use third-party analytics and advertising tools
(such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Google AdSense) that may receive pseudonymous identifiers (IP
address, cookie IDs, device information). Under the broad CPRA definitions, these flows may constitute
"sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising and, in some configurations, a "sale."
The table below lists each category of personal information that may be sold or shared, the categories of
third parties that receive it, and the business purpose. This satisfies the disclosure requirement at Cal.
Civ. Code §1798.115(c) and 11 CCR §7012(e).
| PI Category |
Disclosed for Business Purpose to… |
Sold or Shared with… |
| Identifiers (name, email) |

None for money. Not shared with advertising partners. |
| Internet/Network Activity (cookies, IP, page views) |

Analytics providers |
Shared with advertising partners for ad selection and frequency capping |
How to opt out: You can opt out of all sale and sharing in three ways, all equally effective:
•
Click the "Opt Out of Sale & Sharing" button at the top of this page. This sets a
persistent first-party cookie that disables analytics and advertising on this browser for one year.
•
Enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser. We automatically detect and honor the GPC
signal as a valid opt-out request, with no further action needed from you. Many privacy-focused browsers
(Brave, Firefox with extensions, DuckDuckGo) support GPC natively. See
globalprivacycontrol.org.
•
Email us at
ccpa@openclassactions.com or
privacy@openclassactions.com with the subject line "Do
Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." Authorized agents may submit on your behalf.
We will not require you to create an account, log in, verify your identity, or submit any other personal
information beyond what is strictly necessary to honor the opt-out request, consistent with 11 CCR
§7026(b).
Disclosure of Personal Information
We may disclose your personal information to the following categories of third parties:
•
Service Providers: Companies that provide services on our behalf, such as web hosting, data
analytics, email delivery, and customer service
•
Law Firms: Attorneys and law firms that may offer to represent you in class action lawsuits
•
Advertising Partners: Companies that help us deliver targeted advertising
•
Analytics Providers: Companies such as Google Analytics that help us understand website usage
•
Legal Authorities: When required by law or to protect our rights
How to Submit a CCPA Request
To exercise any of your rights under the CCPA, you may submit a verifiable consumer request by contacting us
through one of the following methods:
What to Include in Your Request
To help us process your request efficiently, please include the following information:
• Your full legal name
• Your email address (the one you used to interact with our website, if applicable)
• Your California mailing address
• A clear description of the right(s) you wish to exercise (e.g., "Right to Delete," "Right to Know,"
"Right to Opt-Out")
• Any additional information that may help us locate your records
Verification Process
Upon receiving your request, we will need to verify your identity before processing it. This helps protect
your personal information from unauthorized access or deletion. The verification process may include:
• Confirming your email address by sending a verification link
• Matching the information you provide with information we already have on file
• Requesting additional documentation if we cannot verify your identity through other means
You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. If you use an authorized agent,
we may require proof that you have provided the agent with power of attorney or written authorization, and
we may still verify your identity directly.
Response Timing
We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within 45 days of receipt. If we need additional time (up to
90 days total), we will notify you of the reason and extension period in writing. Any disclosures we provide
will cover only the 12-month period preceding our receipt of your request.
Financial Incentives
We do not offer any financial incentives or price or service differences in exchange for the retention or
sale of your personal information.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Browser Signals
We honor the
Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale
and sharing of personal information, as required by 11 CCR §7025. When you visit any page on
OpenClassActions.com from a browser that sends a GPC signal, we automatically:
• Disable Google Analytics tracking on that page load and for the duration of the session
• Disable Google Ads conversion tracking
• Treat the signal as a permanent opt-out from sale and sharing for that browser
We do
not currently respond to the legacy "Do Not Track" (DNT) header, which has been deprecated by
the major browser vendors and is not recognized as an opt-out signal under California law. GPC is the
current standard and is fully honored. To enable GPC, use a browser that supports it natively (such as
Brave or DuckDuckGo) or install a GPC-compliant extension on Firefox or Chrome.
Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
OpenClassActions.com does
not use automated decision-making technology (ADMT), profiling, or
artificial-intelligence systems to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on
consumers. We do not score, rank, or otherwise evaluate visitors using ADMT. As a result, the right to
opt out of automated decision-making under the CPPA's ADMT regulations does not apply to our processing.
We will update this notice if our practices change.
Data Portability and Format of Disclosures
Where you exercise your Right to Know and we have responsive personal information about you, we will
deliver it in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format that allows you to
transmit the information to another entity without hindrance, consistent with Cal. Civ. Code
§1798.130(a)(2)(B). Default delivery is by email in CSV or JSON format.
Minors Under Age 16
We do not knowingly collect personal information from consumers under 16 years of age, and we do not
knowingly sell or share the personal information of any consumer under 16. Under California law, the sale
or sharing of personal information of a consumer under 16 requires affirmative opt-in consent (the consumer
if 13 to 15, or a parent or guardian if under 13). Because we do not knowingly process personal information
of consumers under 16, no opt-in is sought. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have
inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at
ccpa@openclassactions.com and we will delete it.
Changes to This CCPA Notice
We reserve the right to amend this CCPA Notice at our discretion and at any time. When we make changes to
this notice, we will post the updated notice on this page and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of
this page.
