What is the Mueller Kitchen Products Class Action Settlement?

An $800,000 class action lawsuit has been settled with Mueller, a large maker and distributor of American kitchen consumer products sold for use in households. Mueller is a brand owned by its umbrella parent company, Aterian, branded as "The Tech Enabled Consumer Product Company". The class action alleged that due to this advertising, consumers of Mueller household products were led to believe that the products they purchased would be of higher value or higher quality, and thus paid more for these Mueller products than they would have if the Austrian references were not seen on labels or marketing.

The legal case that was brought forward by class action attorneys, on behalf of Mueller product customers, asserts that Aterian has allegedly contravened various laws including the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act, California's False Advertising Law, and California's Unfair Competition Law. The lawsuit further alleges that Aterian has breached both explicit and implied warranties, engaged in fraudulent activities, and disseminated negligent and deliberate misrepresentations. Additionally, the lawsuit claims that Aterian has benefited unfairly. Aterian, the parent company of the brand Mueller, in response, has refuted these class action lawsuit allegations, but has settled without accepting any wrongdoing.

How Do I Qualify?

You may be owed a payment of in the Mueller kitchen consumer products settlement if you purchased a qualifying product (see list below), and if you were in the United States when you made the purchase between December 9, 2018 through and including August 23, 2023.

In addition to the qualifying purchase dates mentioned above, you will be asked to submit a claim under penalty of perjury, under the following conditions:

• You resided in a territory, state, or military installation of the United States,
• That the claim form submitted will include information you deem to be factual and true to your best knowledge, and can be subject to Court audit, verification, and review.

Please note that in open class action settlements such as these, the payout may be lower than the originally anticipated amount and is set at the above payout amounts according to the Mueller class action administrator. How Do I File a Claim?

To be eligible to receive a payment from the $800,000 Mueller Kitchen Household Products Class Action Settlement, you must submit a complete, valid, and timely class action Claim Form fully by January 30, 2024 electronically.
