Payout: Up to $4,000 for fraud losses + $400 for expenses + $80 for your time + 2 years credit monitoring with $1M insurance
Who Qualifies: Anyone who received a data breach notice from U.S. Dermatology Partners about the June 2024 breach
If you're a patient of U.S. Dermatology Partners and received a letter saying your personal information may have been exposed in a data breach, you have money coming — but you need to file a claim before the deadline.
In June 2024, hackers broke into the computer network of U.S. Dermatology Partners (officially called Oliver Street Dermatology Management LLC), a company that runs dermatology clinics across multiple states. The attackers may have accessed files containing patient names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical record numbers, medical records, and health insurance information.
A class action settlement has been reached, and there are several ways you can get paid. The deadline to file is February 17, 2026.
What Happened?
This was a network breach — meaning hackers got into U.S. Dermatology Partners' computer systems, not just a single email account. A criminal third party accessed the company's network in June 2024 and potentially reached files containing sensitive patient information.
The type of information that may have been exposed is particularly sensitive because it's medical data on top of financial data. We're talking about names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical record numbers, actual medical record information, and health insurance details. This is the kind of data that can be used for identity theft, insurance fraud, and medical identity theft — where someone uses your information to get medical care or prescriptions in your name.
The lawsuit alleges that U.S. Dermatology Partners failed to put proper security measures in place to protect this data. The company denies any wrongdoing. The two sides agreed to settle.
Who Qualifies?
You qualify if U.S. Dermatology Partners sent you a notice about the June 2024 data breach. If you got that letter, you're in. The company operates dermatology offices in multiple states, so this isn't limited to one location — it covers patients across their entire network.

What Can You Get?
This settlement offers multiple types of compensation. Here's how each one works:
2 years of credit monitoring with $1 million insurance. Every class member can sign up for two years of single-bureau credit monitoring at no cost. This includes real-time monitoring of your credit file, dark web scanning (which checks if your information is being sold on illegal marketplaces), and public records monitoring. It also comes with $1 million in identity theft insurance and access to a fraud resolution agent if something goes wrong. This is available to everyone — no proof of harm needed.
Up to $80 for your time. If you spent time dealing with the aftermath of the breach — changing passwords, checking your bank accounts, researching what happened, calling your credit card company, freezing your credit — you can claim $20 per hour for up to four hours. That's a maximum of $80. You don't need receipts for this one. You just need to briefly describe what you did and how long it took.
Up to $400 for ordinary expenses. If the breach cost you money for things like freezing and unfreezing your credit, paying for credit monitoring services, or miscellaneous costs like postage, notary fees, mileage, or long-distance phone calls, you can be reimbursed up to $400. You'll need documentation like receipts or bank statements. The expenses must have been incurred between June 19, 2024 and February 17, 2026.
OR up to $4,000 for identity fraud losses. If someone actually used your stolen information to commit fraud or identity theft — and the fraud is more likely than not connected to this breach — you can be reimbursed up to $4,000 for documented, unreimbursed losses. You'll need proof that the loss happened, that it was caused by fraud or identity theft, and that it's connected to the breach. This is instead of the $400 ordinary expenses — you claim one or the other, not both.
You can combine the credit monitoring, the $80 lost time payment, and one of the expense reimbursement categories (either the $400 ordinary expenses or the $4,000 fraud losses).
What Proof Do I Need?
It depends on what you're claiming:
• Credit monitoring: No proof needed — just fill out the claim form.
• $80 lost time: No receipts needed — just briefly describe what you did and how long it took.
• $400 expenses or $4,000 fraud losses: You need documentation like receipts, bank statements, or bills. Personal statements or handwritten notes alone aren't enough, but they can be included alongside other proof.

A service award of up to $1,500 for class representative Tammy Olson is also paid separately by the defendant.
What Happens If I Do Nothing?
