Careers at OpenClassActions.com

Online Marketing Assistant

A generalist marketing role at an independent consumer news site — content, email, social, partnerships and light web development.

About the Role

OpenClassActions.com is a small, independent news site covering class action settlements, mass torts, data breaches and recalls. Readers come to us for one thing: an accurate answer about what they can claim and by when.

We run lean and move fast, so this role is deliberately broad. You will touch research and writing, the newsletter, the social accounts, SEO and partnerships, and the site itself — usually with AI tools doing the heavy lifting alongside you.

What You'd Help With

Content

  • Research settlements and lawsuits from official sources — settlement websites, claim forms, court dockets and agency notices.
  • Write and publish pages from our existing templates, following a documented house standard.
  • Keep live pages current as deadlines pass and cases move through court.

Email

  • Build and send the newsletter — pick the cases, write short blurbs, get it out on schedule.
  • Grow the list and track what people actually open and click.

Social

  • Post and repurpose site content across the accounts.
  • Test formats, find what travels, and do more of it.

Marketing & Sales

  • Run traffic and SEO experiments, and report on what moved.
  • Law firm account management — keeping partner relationships running.
  • Affiliate and ad partnerships, plus outreach to find new ones.

Web & AI

  • Basic web development with AI assistance — page edits, listings, fixes.
  • Use Claude Code, Codex and similar tools.

What We're Looking For

The most important qualification is the ability to learn quickly, and a genuine interest in building a career in online marketing. Almost everything else on this page is teachable.

  • You pick up new tools fast and enjoy doing it.
  • You want to work across marketing rather than in one narrow lane.
  • You are comfortable with AI tools; hands-on experience with Claude or Codex is a real plus.
  • You follow a written process exactly — including the steps nobody would notice you skipped.
  • You write plainly, and you can cut your own copy in half.

How We Work

Everything we publish is checked against primary sources. Accuracy matters more than volume here, because readers act on the deadlines we print — a wrong date costs someone a payment they were entitled to.

In practice that means clear written standards, automated checks that catch mistakes before anything goes live, and a lot of trust once you have shown you follow the process. If that sounds good rather than restrictive, you will fit.

Apply

Send a message and/or your CV to job@openclassactions.com. Tell us what you would want to work on first — that is more useful to us than a cover letter.

Other Roles

This is the only role we are actively hiring for, but we keep good applications on file. If you write well, know consumer legal news, or work in performance marketing, send a note to job@openclassactions.com.
