What Is This Settlement About?

Carpe Diem Pizza, Inc. and King Beast Pizza, Inc. — two Domino's Pizza franchise operators — agreed to a settlement totaling $1,000,000 to resolve a class action alleging that their job postings for open positions in Washington State did not disclose the wage scale or salary range and a general description of benefits and other compensation. The lawsuit, Moliga, et ano. v. Carpe Diem Pizza, Inc., et ano., claims those postings violated Washington's pay transparency law, RCW 49.58.110, part of the Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, which requires employers to include pay and benefit information in job advertisements.

The defendants deny that they violated the law or can be held liable for the claims in the lawsuit. They agreed to the settlement to avoid the uncertainty, risk, and expense of continued litigation, without admitting any wrongdoing. The case is pending before Judge Maureen McKee in King County Superior Court. On May 26, 2026, the court granted preliminary approval and authorized notice to the class.

Who Qualifies?

You are a Settlement Class Member if, between January 1, 2023 and May 26, 2026, you applied for a job opening in the State of Washington with one or more of the defendants — Carpe Diem Pizza, Inc. or King Beast Pizza, Inc. — where the job posting did not disclose the wage scale or salary range and a general description of benefits and other compensation. Both companies operate as Domino's Pizza in Washington.

The defendants' records were used to identify likely class members, and notices were sent to the people those records identified. This case is one of many Washington pay-transparency settlements involving job applicants — others include the ACV Auctions Washington job postings settlement, the McDonald's (KTC LLC) Washington job postings settlement, and the Potbelly Washington pay transparency settlement.

How Much Can You Get?

The settlement provides for a total payment of $1,000,000 by the defendants. All Settlement Class Members who do not exclude themselves are eligible to receive an equal share of the Class Fund — the money that remains after the court approves attorneys' fees (up to $333,333.33), costs and expenses (up to $5,000), and service awards for the class representatives (up to $7,500 each). The exact per-person amount depends on the final size of the class and the amounts the court approves, so it cannot be stated precisely in advance.

According to the notice, settlement payments will be characterized as non-wage damages and reported on a Form 1099. OpenClassActions.com does not provide tax advice; for questions about how a settlement payment affects your taxes, contact the IRS or a qualified tax professional.

How Do You Get Paid? (Nothing to File)

There is no claim form for this settlement. If the court approves the settlement and you do not exclude yourself, you will automatically be mailed a check. The only thing you need to do is make sure the Settlement Administrator has your current mailing address — if your address or phone number changes, update it through the official settlement website so your check reaches you.

All checks will expire and become void 180 days after the date they are issued. Under Washington's Unclaimed Property Act (RCW 63.29), uncashed checks are turned over to the State of Washington, where you may still be able to claim the funds later.

Do nothing — you stay in the Settlement Class, receive a payment automatically, and give up the right to sue the defendants over the claims resolved in this case (the release described in the settlement agreement).

Exclude yourself — if you want to keep the right to sue the defendants separately over these claims, you can opt out by mailing a signed exclusion request to the Settlement Administrator, postmarked no later than August 10, 2026. If you exclude yourself, you will not receive a payment and will not be bound by the settlement.

Object — if you stay in the class but disagree with the settlement, you can file a written objection with King County Superior Court, and mail copies to Class Counsel and Defendants' Counsel, no later than August 10, 2026. You may also ask to speak at the Final Approval Hearing. Full instructions and the required contents of an exclusion request or objection are in the official notice.
