This lawsuit is created based on consumers claims that two of Britax's child car seats were defective:• Frontier ClickTight Harness-2-Booster Seat
• Pioneer Harness-2-Booster Seat
The class action lawsuit alleges that the structure surrounding the harness and the top tether are capable of detaching from the seat due to a failure in the hardware component that connects the harness to the steel frame. Purchasers of the above products claim that they paid more for the Child Seats than they would have paid had they known about the defect or would not have purchased them at all.
The class action alleges on beehalf of consumers that such conduct violated California state consumer and warranty laws.
Britax is the company specialized on child safety products, producing a wide range of consumer products for children including child seats and strollers. The company describes itself as an innovator with unique accessories driven by technology. A similar class action was settled with Chicco over their car booster seats for toddlers.

How Do I Qualify?
You qualify to be paid for this class action if you are or were a resident of California who purchased either a Britax Frontier ClickTight Harness-2-Booster Seat or Britax Pioneer Harness-2-Booster Seat for personal or household use between August 14, 2016 and August 14, 2020. The child booster seat must have had a manufacturing date between August 14, 2016 and September 30, 2019.What Can I Get?
The Settlement provides a $40 cash payment to qualifying Settlement Class Members.You will need to prove your proof of purchase with retailer's receipt or credit card receipt confirming the product which was purchased, or alternatively a photo of the Child Seat showing the serial number and manufacturing date of the Child Seat. The manufacturing date will have had to have been between August 14, 2016 and September 30, 2019.
How Do I File a Claim?
You must file Claim to receive a cash payment, claim form is available online by August 10, 2022, or by mail postmarked by August 10, 2022.The Court held a class action final approval hearing on August 29, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. in California.
