This lawsuit alleges that Greystar unlawfully charged complaint filing fees, sheriff service fees, and attorneys' fees (“Eviction Fees”) when filing summary ejectment/eviction actions against their tenants. Also they unlawfully threatened to charge Eviction Fees through written correspondence (the “Collection Letter”).

How Do I Qualify?
If, between May 10, 2014 and June 25, 2018, you resided in any of the properties in North Carolina owned or managed by Greystar Real Estate Partners, LLC, Greystar Management Services, L.P., Greystar RS National, Inc., Greystar RS SE, LLC, GREP Southeast, LLC, or Innesbrook Apartments, LLC d/b/a Southpoint Glen and received a Collection Letter or paid Eviction Fees, this Class Action affects your rights.There are two types of Class Members in this Action:
• Collection Letter Class Members, who at any point between May 10, 2014 and June 25, 2018, resided in any of the properties in North Carolina owned or managed by Greystar.
• Eviction Fee Class Members, the persons who were charged and paid Eviction Fees.
Eviction Fee Class Members may also be Collection Letter Class Members if they meet the requirements of both Classes.
What Can I Get?
A $4,665,000.00 in cash Settlement Fund was created.• If you are a member of the Collection Letter Class, you are eligible to receive $50.00 per letter upt to $150 if you certify that you received a Collection Letter threatening that Greystar would assess Eviction Fees.
• If you are a member of the Eviction Fee Class, you do NOT need to file a claim to obtain Eviction Fee benefits. Each Eviction Fee Class Member may receive compensation of approximately $400.00.
How Do I File a Claim?
You could submit the claim form online or print it and send it by mail postmarked no later than June 20, 2022 in the case Wallace v. Greystar Real Estate Partners, LLC, et al.The Court will hold a Fairness Hearing on July 22, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. North Carolina.
