Multiple law firms have launched investigations into Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, and other rideshare
companies misclassified their drivers. For those companies that may have improperly classified their drivers
as Independent Contractors instead of employees, claims will be reviewed, and a law firm representive will
contact the claimaint for a no-cost consultation. There have also been lawsuits launched into Uber and Lyft over allegations of sexual abuse of passengers.
Recently, an open class action lawsuit resulted in a
nearly $8.5 Million class action
settlement in which Uber Drivers in California were allegedly misclassified as independent
contractors, as opposed to its employees. In that class action lawsuit, lawyers arguing on behalf of Uber
Drivers alleged that because drivers and deliverers in California were miscalssified, this violated
California's labor laws. Specifically, the Uber class action lawsuit claimed Uber failed to reimburse
drivers for vehicle related and phone expenses and failed to provide drivers with accurate, itemized wage
statements, therefore finding a loophole to reduce Uber drivers and delivery drivers' incomes unfairly.
Uber is a rideshare company that has been upheaving the taxi business in markets worldwide for over a
decade. The uber stock price has been hovering at $27.80 as of August 23, 2022, with a market cap of about
$55 Billion.
