What's the Capital One 360 Savings Account Interest Rate Settlement?

If you held a Capital One 360 Savings account you may be owed $5 or more from a new class action lawsuit against Capital One. Capital One has settled a class action over allegations that it paid lower interest rates on "360 Savings" accounts compared to its "360 Performance Savings" accounts, despite the accounts being otherwise similar.

According to the class action lawsuit, Capital One allegedly violated consumer rights by:

Failing to Raise Interest Rates: It did not increase the interest rates on 360 Savings accounts to match the higher rates offered on its 360 Performance Savings accounts, despite the accounts being otherwise similar.

Deceptive Marketing: It allegedly misrepresented the 360 Savings account as a high-yield savings product while concealing the existence of the 360 Performance Savings account and its higher interest rate.

Lack of Transparency: Plaintiffs claimed Capital One did not adequately inform 360 Savings accountholders about the lower interest rates or the availability of the higher-yield 360 Performance Savings account.

What is the Total Settlement Amount?

The total settlement is $425 million, consisting of:

• $300 million for cash payments to class members.
