GeoLogics Corporation data breach class action settlement — file a claim by August 17, 2026

What Is This Settlement About?

GeoLogics Corporation, an Alexandria, Virginia-based engineering, IT, and technical-staffing firm that serves the defense, aerospace, and U.S. federal government sectors, experienced a cyberattack on its network between December 21 and 23, 2023. GeoLogics learned on October 16, 2024 that personal information may have been accessed or taken during the incident, and began notifying affected individuals. The ransomware group DragonForce reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack; GeoLogics has not confirmed that claim.

A proposed class action lawsuit followed, alleging GeoLogics failed to implement reasonable data security safeguards to protect the personal information in its care. GeoLogics denies that it did anything wrong, and the court has not decided who is right; the parties agreed to a settlement to avoid the cost and risk of continued litigation. The case is Hardy et al. v. GeoLogics Corporation, No. D-1-GN-26-001299, in the District Court of Travis County, Texas (250th Judicial District). The court appointed Raina C. Borrelli of Strauss Borrelli PLLC and Ra Amen of Mason LLP as Class Counsel.

Eligible class members can now file a claim for a cash payment plus credit monitoring. The deadline to file is August 17, 2026. This page explains who qualifies, how much you can get, and how to file.

Who Qualifies?

The court has defined the settlement class as all individuals residing in the United States whose private information was compromised in the GeoLogics data incident that began on or around December 21, 2023 — including everyone who received notice of the incident. About 11,948 people were notified.

GeoLogics is an engineering, IT, and technical-staffing firm serving the defense, aerospace, and U.S. federal government sectors, so many class members are current and former employees, contractors, and applicants whose information GeoLogics held. Excluded from the class are GeoLogics' officers and directors, the judge and court staff, and anyone who validly opts out.

If you received a mailed notice from GeoLogics about this incident, you are a class member.

How Much Can You Get?

You choose one of two mutually exclusive cash options when you file your claim:

Alternative Cash Payment — an estimated $50 with no proof of losses required. Any class member may elect this option regardless of whether they suffered documented losses. The settlement notice states this payment is expected to be $50, though the final amount may vary.

Documented Out-of-Pocket Losses — Up to $2,500 for actual, documented losses you can trace to the GeoLogics breach, incurred between December 21, 2023 and August 17, 2026. Eligible expenses include identity theft charges, fraudulent credit card or bank charges, the cost of obtaining credit reports, fees to freeze or unfreeze your credit, costs to replace a compromised ID or driver's license, and postage or copying costs. You'll need receipts, bank or credit card statements, or a self-prepared written explanation of the loss.

Credit Monitoring — In addition to the cash option you select, all class members who file a valid claim may enroll in two years of credit monitoring, which includes $1 million in identity theft protection insurance. The official settlement website explains how to enroll after your claim is approved.

What Data Was Exposed?

According to the breach notice GeoLogics sent to affected individuals, the personal information potentially compromised in the December 2023 attack may have included:

Not every affected individual had all of these data types exposed; the exact categories varied by person based on what GeoLogics stored.

How to File a Claim

The claim deadline is August 17, 2026. File through the official settlement website at geologicscorpdatasettlement.com, where you can submit a claim online or download a paper claim form to complete and mail. If you received a notice in the mail, keep it handy — it may contain information that makes filing faster.

When you complete the form, select either the alternative cash option (no proof required) or the documented-losses option. If you choose documented losses, attach copies of your supporting records — receipts, bank or credit card statements, or a written explanation of the loss. If you can't find your notice or need a paper claim form, you can request one through the official settlement website's contact page.

Key Deadlines

If you do nothing, you remain in the class and give up your right to sue GeoLogics over this incident, but you will not receive a payment unless you file a claim by the deadline. Settlement payments are typically issued within a few months of final approval, assuming no appeals are filed.

Watch Out for Scams

Legitimate settlement administrators do not charge a fee to release a class action payment, and they do not ask for your full Social Security number, banking passwords, or a "processing payment" by text or phone. File only through the official settlement website linked on this page, and ignore unsolicited messages demanding money or sensitive credentials to "release" your check.
