What is the La-Z-Boy Joybird Class Action?
You may be part of a new $7 million class action settlement reached with La-Z-Boy and Stitch Industries (Joybird.com) over allegations that
La-Z-Boy deceptively advertised various
discounts for products sold on Joybird.com and in physical Joybird stores.
The La-Z-Boy open class action lawsuit alleged is that certain Joybird discounts may have been misleading.
Plaintiffs claimed that some sale prices were advertised as limited-time or discounted from a higher
reference price when, according to the lawsuit, the products may have been sold at or near those prices
regularly. This is commonly called a deceptive pricing or false reference pricing claim.
What matters legally is this:
• The lawsuit alleged misleading discount advertising.
• The companies deny the claims.
• The case settled to avoid the cost and risk of litigation.
• No judge ruled that the sales were fake or illegal.

The La-Z-Boy class action lawsuit estimates roughly $7,015,000 to

people. Attorney fees (up to $1,325,000) and incentive awards (up to

members.
