What is the $28M SiriusXM class action about?
If you tried a free Sirius XM trial in your car years ago, or maybe you never even signed up — but you
received spam phone calls anyway. Some consumers have reported that SiriusXM wouldn’t stop dialing, even
after they asked to be
removed from their call list, or
added to the National Do Not Call registry.
Now SiriusXM has agreed to pay to resolve a $28 million class action lawsuit that accuses the company of
breaking
the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), a federal law that restricts the use of automated calls
and prerecorded voice messages.
Satellite radio company SiriusXM has agreed to pay
to resolve allegations that
it placed unsolicited telemarketing calls to consumers without their consent. The lawsuit claims that
SiriusXM violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), a federal law restricting the use
of automated dialing systems and prerecorded voice messages.
April 2026 Update
The SiriusXM TCPA settlement claim deadline has passed. As of April 16, 2026, 427,627 claims have been filed and the estimated payout is $39.63 per class member. The SiriusXM class action lawsuit is at preliminary approval for a $28,000,000 settlement fund. The proposed
order appoints Angeion Group as Settlement Administrator and approves the notice plan

references a case website at SXMTCPASettlement.com.
What Preliminary Approval Means
Preliminary approval is the Court’s first step in reviewing a class action settlement. It allows notice
and claims to begin but does not finalize payments yet. The judge must still grant final approval at a
later hearing before any money is distributed.
October 21, 2025
The Court entered an order setting and resetting hearings following the settlement filing. Parties
continued briefing and sealed submissions in advance of preliminary approval.
October 3, 2025
The class action lawsuit entered the filing of a Settlement Agreement and an unopposed motion for
preliminary approval. The filing
confirms Sirius XM will pay $28,000,000 and proposes Angeion Group as the Settlement Administrator, with
a notice program and claim form attached.
The proposed preliminary-approval order authorizes Angeion to proceed with notice upon entry of the
order.
July 15, 2025
The parties advised the Court that they executed a settlement term sheet and would move toward a full
settlement agreement.

What are the SiriusXM Class Action Allegations?
Plaintiffs alleged that SiriusXM made repeated telemarketing calls promoting its radio subscriptions and
related services, even to consumers who had never provided consent or had asked to be removed from
marketing lists. The lawsuit sought damages for each unlawful call under the TCPA, which allows for up
to $500 per call, or $1,500 for willful violations.
Who is eligible?
Consumers who received one or more unauthorized telemarketing calls from SiriusXM promoting its
subscriptions or related products may be eligible for cash compensation. The specific eligibility period
and claim requirements will be announced following preliminary court approval.
How much can I receive?
The exact payment per person has not been determined. The final amount will depend on how many valid
claims are submitted. Funds will likely be distributed on a pro rata basis among approved
claimants.
How do I file a claim?
The filing period is over. The claim deadline was March 21, 2026, and the claim window has
closed. The official settlement website remains available as an archival reference at
SXMTCPASettlement.com. If you submitted a timely claim, no further action is
needed; the Settlement Administrator (Angeion Group) will issue payment after final court approval.
When will payments be issued?
The Final Approval Hearing is scheduled for May 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. CDT by Zoom teleconference.
If the Court grants final approval and no objector appeals, Angeion Group will distribute payments
to class members who filed timely claims. Distribution typically follows several weeks to a few
months after final approval becomes final.
