AT&T Settlement Payments Move One Step Closer
AT&T customers waiting on compensation from the $177 million data breach class action settlement are now closer to receiving payments. A final approval hearing was held on January 15, 2026, clearing the last major hurdle before settlement funds can be distributed to approved claimants.
Settlement administrators confirmed that the court has granted final approval, allowing the payment process to move forward.
Why Payments Were Delayed
Although the settlement agreement was reached last year, payments were delayed due to an extension of the claim deadline. The original deadline of November 18 was pushed to December 18 by the court, giving additional customers time to submit claims.
This extension required administrators to pause payment processing until all claims could be reviewed.
How Much Can Claimants Receive?
Eligible claimants may receive significant compensation depending on how they were affected by the breaches.
Customers impacted by the March 30, 2024 breach may receive up to $5,000. Those affected by the July 12, 2024 breach may receive up to $2,500. Claimants who can document losses from both incidents may receive as much as $7,500.
AT&T Settlement Payment Summary

When Will AT&T Settlement Payments Be Sent?
An exact payment date has not yet been announced. However, with final approval now granted, settlement administrators are expected to begin issuing payments in the near future.
Payments may be sent by check or electronic payment depending on the method selected during the claim submission process.
What Information Was Involved in the Breaches?
The lawsuits stem from two data breach incidents in 2024 that allegedly exposed sensitive customer information. This may have included Social Security numbers, dates of birth, billing identifiers, phone numbers, and account passcodes.
AT&T has denied wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to avoid prolonged litigation.
What Should Claimants Do Now?
Claimants should continue to monitor email and mail for payment notifications or additional instructions from the settlement administrator. Those eligible for credit monitoring should also ensure enrollment is completed to receive the full benefit.
