The Federal Trade Commission is sending another wave of checks to people who used Progressive Leasing’s rent to own plans and paid more than expected. This second distribution totals more than $27 million across 1,221,146 checks. You must cash your check within 90 days. If you got a letter with a check from the FTC, it is real. No claim form is needed to apply.

Why refunds are going out

Progressive Leasing paid $175 million in 2020 to resolve FTC allegations that its marketing misled shoppers with no interest and same as cash language. The FTC first mailed more than $143 million in June 2021. Money remains in the fund, so the FTC is sending a second round now.
