If you keep a box of CVS Health Medicated Hemorrhoidal Wipes in the bathroom, move it out of a child's reach now — the packets are not child-resistant, and any CVS store will give you a full refund.

What Is Being Recalled?

Diamond Wipes International, Inc., of Chino, California, has recalled about 75,315 boxes of CVS Health Medicated Hemorrhoidal Wipes. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on July 2, 2026. The wipes contain lidocaine, a topical anesthetic, and federal law requires any product with lidocaine at therapeutic levels to be sold in child-resistant packaging. The recalled packets are not child-resistant, which violates the Poison Prevention Packaging Act.

The concern is child poisoning: if a young child gets into a packet and swallows or chews on a wipe, the lidocaine can be absorbed into the body and cause serious injury or death. As of the recall announcement, no injuries had been reported. The remedy is a full refund at any CVS store.
