People who bought Kayem, Al Fresco, McKenzie, Triple M, Deutschmacher, Jordan’s, Genoa, Essem or Winnisimmet hot dogs, bacon, sausage, ham or deli meat marked EST. M/P 7839, EST. P 20935A or EST. M 9520 should not eat them and can throw them away or return them to the store; there is nothing to file. USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service says the products, made from about March 31 to October 7, 2026, may have been stored at unsafe temperatures.
What Is Being Recalled?
Kayem Foods Inc., of Chelsea, Massachusetts, is recalling about 1.58 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on October 17, 2026. The products may have been subjected to temperature abuse while in storage. They include hot dogs and franks, bacon, chicken sausages, hams, turkey breast, roast beef and other deli meats sold under nine brand names.According to FSIS, the problem was found after a retail customer complained on October 1, 2026, about warm product temperatures at delivery. Kayem then determined that various ready-to-eat products had been stored in a warehouse cooler that experienced temperature deviations. FSIS says there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions from eating the products, and it urges consumers not to eat them.

FSIS says the recalled products carry one of three establishment numbers inside the USDA mark of inspection: EST. M/P 7839, EST. P 20935A or EST. M 9520. They were produced from about March 31, 2026, through October 7, 2026. Kayem’s own recall notice describes the affected products as those stored and shipped between June 7 and October 14, 2026, and identifies each one by brand, item description, UPC code and lot code.The products were shipped to retail and foodservice locations nationwide and to Hong Kong. FSIS is concerned that some may still be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers.

What to Do With the Products
FSIS urges consumers not to eat the recalled products and to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. Kayem’s notice likewise tells consumers to dispose of them. Neither notice sets up a registration site or refund form, so any money back is handled by the store where the product was bought.
