Stoney Games, LLC, of Bexley, Ohio, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is recalling about 151,600 Kluster Fun Tabletop magnet chess games. The recall was announced March 12, 2026, and assigned recall number 26-319.
Kluster is a tabletop magnetic stacking game, sold under model and SKU number B07MJW2LLD6. Each game includes about 24 small, loose magnets that measure roughly 0.5 to 1 inch wide and 0.3 to 0.4 inch high, along with an orange string, an instruction manual and a black storage pouch. Some sets were sold in a black box marked "Kluster" on the front, and others were sold in a white pouch with gameplay instructions printed on the back. The games were sold nationwide at independent game shops and online on Klustermagnets.com, Amazon and Etsy from October 2018 through September 2025 for between $15 and $20.
According to the CPSC recall notice, the recalled games violate the mandatory federal toy standard because they contain loose high-powered magnets that fit within CPSC's small parts cylinder, posing an ingestion hazard to children. When more than one high-powered magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other — or other metal objects — across the walls of the digestive system. That can result in perforations, twisting or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death.
No incidents or injuries had been reported at the time of the recall. Because the danger comes from the magnets themselves, the CPSC advises consumers to stop using the recalled game immediately and keep it away from children until the magnets are disposed of and replaced.
You are covered by the recall if you own a Kluster Fun Tabletop magnet chess game (model B07MJW2LLD6), sold between October 2018 and September 2025 at an independent game shop or online on Klustermagnets.com, Amazon or Etsy. The game includes about 24 small, loose magnets, an orange string, an instruction manual and a black storage pouch, and was sold either in a black box marked "Kluster" or in a white pouch with gameplay instructions on the back.
Stoney Games is offering a free replacement of the recalled product through its official Kluster recall page. To get the remedy:
• Immediately stop using the recalled magnet game and take it away from children
• Go to the official Kluster recall page (Klustermagnets.com — click "Recall" at the top of the page) and submit your contact information together with an image of the recalled product and your date of acquisition or receipt
• Write the word "Recalled" on the inside of the box top and bottom
• Place all of the magnetic stone components in a ziplock bag and dispose of the recalled product in the garbage
• Receive a free replacement of the recalled product
Documentation is required to receive the replacement: the instructions ask for a photo of the recalled product and your date of acquisition or receipt (proof of purchase), as well as confirmation that the recalled magnets have been disposed of. The exact steps are explained on the official Kluster recall page and the CPSC recall notice.
High-powered magnet products have a long history of CPSC enforcement and occasional class action activity, particularly where loose magnets violate the mandatory toy standard. As of this writing, OpenClassActions.com had not independently confirmed a filed complaint, case number, or court tied to the Kluster magnet chess recall. If a class action is confirmed, this page will be updated. For now, the recall remedy — free replacement magnets through the official Kluster recall page — is the official path for affected consumers. Anyone whose child was injured by a swallowed magnet should seek medical attention immediately and report the incident to the CPSC at SaferProducts.gov.
Which Kluster games are being recalled?
The recall covers Kluster Fun Tabletop magnet chess games (model and SKU B07MJW2LLD6) — a magnetic stacking game that includes about 24 small, loose magnets roughly 0.5 to 1 inch wide and 0.3 to 0.4 inch high, an orange string, an instruction manual and a black storage pouch. Some were sold in a black box marked "Kluster" and others in a white pouch with gameplay instructions printed on the back. Why are the Kluster magnet games being recalled?
The games contain loose high-powered magnets that fit within CPSC's small parts cylinder, violating the mandatory federal toy standard. When more than one high-powered magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other or other metal objects across the walls of the digestive system, which can result in perforations, twisting or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death. No incidents or injuries had been reported at the time of the recall.
How do I get a replacement for my recalled Kluster game?
Immediately stop using the recalled magnet game and keep it away from children. Then go to the official Kluster recall page and follow the instructions: submit your contact information together with an image of the recalled product and your date of acquisition or receipt, write the word "Recalled" on the inside of the box top and bottom, place all magnetic stone components in a ziplock bag, and dispose of the recalled product in the garbage. Stoney Games then sends a free replacement of the recalled product.
Do I need a receipt to get the replacement?
Yes — documentation is required. To receive the free replacement, the official recall instructions ask you to submit an image of the recalled product and your date of acquisition or receipt (proof of purchase), and to confirm the recalled magnets have been disposed of (write "Recalled" inside the box, bag the magnetic stones, and discard them). The exact steps are explained on the official Kluster recall page.
Is there a deadline to claim the Kluster replacement?
No deadline has been announced. CPSC recalls generally remain open, but because loose high-powered magnets pose a serious ingestion risk to children, consumers should stop using the recalled magnets immediately and request a replacement as soon as possible.
