What Changed Recently?

AIS InfoSource, L.P. agreed to settle Allen, et al. v. AIS InfoSource, L.P., Case No. 2026-18098, a class action in the District Court for Harris County, Texas. The lawsuit alleges that in February 2025 a criminal third party gained unauthorized access to AIS’s network, and that information involved may have included names, Social Security numbers and financial account numbers. AIS denies wrongdoing and all claims, and the court has not decided who is right. The parties settled to avoid the cost and risk of further litigation, and the court authorized notice to class members, with claims now due October 12, 2026.

Who Qualifies?

The court defined the class as all individuals residing in the United States who received notice, including notice of this settlement, that their personally identifiable information may have been involved in the data incident. The settlement website adds that this includes people who received earlier notice directly from AIS about the incident.

Excluded are the presiding judge and the judge’s family and staff; government entities; AIS, its subsidiaries, parents, successors, predecessors and controlled entities, and their current or former officers and directors; anyone who opted out by September 11, 2026; and anyone found guilty of causing or aiding the incident.

How Much Can You Get?

Every class member who files can claim two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete credit monitoring, which comes with $1 million in financial fraud insurance, plus one or both cash benefits:
There is no flat cash payment that every claimant receives, so someone with no losses and no time spent would receive only the credit monitoring. According to the notice, AIS will separately pay class counsel’s attorneys’ fees and costs of up to $325,000 and service awards of up to $3,000 for each of the three class representatives, if the court approves them.

What Proof or Notice ID Is Required?

The online claim form opens only with the LoginID and PIN printed on the notice the administrator sent. The settlement website says class members who cannot find them can request them through the site by giving their full name and mailing address. A claim for documented losses also needs supporting records, such as bank statements, receipts, or postage or copying costs, showing the amount spent and its connection to the incident; personal notes can support other proof but are not enough on their own.

What Is the Deadline?

The claim deadline is October 12, 2026 for claims submitted online or by email; mailed claim forms, with supporting documents, must be postmarked no later than October 12, 2026. The notice does not specify a time of day or time zone. The opt-out and objection deadlines were September 11, 2026 and have passed.

How Do You Take Action?

Claims are filed on the official AIS settlement claim page with the LoginID and PIN from the notice. A printable claim form is also available on the AIS settlement website, run by the court-appointed administrator, Simpluris, along with the notice and settlement agreement.

What Happens Next?

The court will decide whether to grant final approval at the October 13, 2026 hearing. According to the notice, settlement benefits are distributed only after final approval and after any appeals are resolved, and no payment date has been announced.
