What is the Washington Nationals Ticket Discount Settlement?
You may be part of a court-approved settlement with the Washington Nationals Baseball Club, LLC over the “Millennial” or “Young Professional” ticket discount offered March 29, 2023 to March 28, 2024.The class action lawsuit was filed after allegations that the Nationals commited age discrimination under the D.C. Human Rights Act and claims under the D.C. Consumer Protection Procedures Act.
The Nationals officially deny wrongdoing but have agreed to pay the class action lawsuit settlement fund. Final approval was granted on September 12, 2025.
What is the Total Settlement Amount?
The total settlement payout amount will be $3,000,000 in Ticket Credit if all members receive credits, or $800,000 in cash if all members elect cash. For each $1 paid in cash, $3.75 is removed from the credit pool, and vice versa.How Do I Qualify For a Payout?
You qualify if you purchased a single-game ticket to a Nationals home game scheduled during the 2023 or 2024 MLB regular season, bought directly from the Nationals (Nationals or MLB.com websites, by phone, or box office) between March 29, 2023 and March 28, 2024, were age 40 or older at purchase, would have been eligible for the discount but for age, and had non-zero Actual Damages on an Eligible Seat.How Much Can I Get Paid?
• Ticket Credit: greater of $18 or 2× Actual Damages per covered ticket. Credit is usable toward a Nationals home game within 12 months of issuance.
• Cash (by claim): 62.2% of Actual Damages.
Example: $20 damages → $40 Ticket Credit or $12.44 cash. $8 damages → $18 Ticket Credit minimum or $4.97 cash.
How Do I File a Claim?
Do nothing to receive Ticket Credit. It will be deposited to your MLB.com account on file. To receive cash instead, submit a claim form online or by mail within 90 days of final approval.What is the Claim Form Deadline?
