Facebook, Settlement Class Members are defined as people who had both an active NBA Top Shot account and a
Facebook account during the class period.
What Benefits Are Available?
• Cash Payments: A common fund of $7,050,000 will be distributed pro rata among approved
claimants after fees, costs, and service awards.
Current estimates suggest approximately $36 to $122 per valid claim, depending on the number of
claims filed.
• Injunctive Relief: Suspension of the Meta Tracking Pixel on the NBA Top Shot website unless
and until the VPPA is amended, repealed, or otherwise invalidated, or unless Defendants are otherwise in
compliance with that law.
Do I Need Proof to File?
When filing online, you will be asked to provide your Facebook Profile URL or upload a screenshot of
your profile. If you file by mail, you must complete and sign the paper Claim Form with the requested
information. You will be asked to provide a unique ID and PIN. If you do not have one you can file the paper
claim form and mail it to the NBA Top Shot Video Privacy Settlement Administrator by snail mail.
What is the Total Settlement Fund Amount?
The settlement creates a $7,050,000 common fund. Payments to eligible claimants, attorneys’ fees,
settlement administration, notice costs, and any service awards for the Class Representatives will all come
out of this fund. The exact amount each person receives depends on the number of valid claims filed, with
current estimates ranging between $36 and $122 per claimant.

The Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) is a federal law passed in 1988 to protect the privacy of people
