What Is This Settlement About?

A $500,000 settlement has been reached to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging that Service Spot, LLC and TripGate LLC — the companies behind the online parking-reservation sites ParkOn.com and CheapAirportParking.org — failed to adequately disclose a mandatory "Reservation Fee" before customers completed their online bookings. The complaint alleged that tacking this unavoidable fee on at checkout, without warning consumers up front, violated California's Unfair Competition Law and the state's Honest Pricing Law, which targets so-called hidden "junk fees." The defendants deny any wrongdoing and have not admitted liability. They agreed to the settlement to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continued litigation. The court granted preliminary approval to the agreement on February 26, 2026. This is one of a growing wave of California Honest Pricing Law cases over undisclosed checkout fees — see also the Posh Group hidden ticket fee settlement.

Who Qualifies?

You are a member of the settlement class if you are or were a California resident who made a booking on ParkOn.com and/or CheapAirportParking.org between July 1, 2024 and June 9, 2025, and paid a mandatory Reservation Fee in connection with that booking. If you booked airport or off-airport parking through either site during that window and were charged the reservation fee, you are likely covered. If you received a postcard notice in the mail about this settlement, that is a strong sign you have been identified as a class member.

How Much Can You Get?

Class members who submit a timely, valid claim are eligible for a one-time, pro-rated cash payment from the net settlement fund — the $500,000 total minus court-approved attorneys' fees, administration costs, and any service award to the class representative. Because the fund is split among everyone who files a valid claim, the exact per-person amount will not be known until the claim period closes; the more valid claims filed, the smaller each individual share, and vice versa. Payments are issued by check or electronic payment after the settlement is finalized. Settlement checks must be cashed within 180 days of the date they are issued, after which they expire.

How to File a Claim

To file online, go to the official settlement website and log in using the unique ID and PIN printed on the postcard notice you received in the mail. You can also download a paper claim form from the site, complete it, and mail it back to the settlement administrator, Epiq. Because the online and paper claim forms both require the administrator-issued ID and PIN tied to your notice, this settlement is Proof Required: Yes — a claimant who never received (or discarded) the postcard cannot simply file with a name and email alone. If you believe you are a class member but did not receive a notice or have lost it, use the contact form on the official settlement website to reach the administrator and request help locating your ID and PIN.

Important Dates

Payments are distributed only after the court grants final approval and any appeals are resolved, so even valid claims will not pay out immediately.

Watch Out for Scams

Only file through the official settlement website. The legitimate site never asks you to pay a fee to receive a payment and will not request your Social Security number or banking login to "verify" your claim. If a message demands payment or sensitive financial credentials in order to release your settlement money, treat it as a scam.
