What Is the Elgon Information Systems Data Breach?

Elgon Information Systems is based in Massachusetts and provides IT services to other businesses. The company recently announced that their internal network was breached by hackers, who accessed and stole confidential information stored there. In their required report to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for breaches involving protected health information, Elgon Information Systems reported that the information of over 31,000 individuals was compromised in their breach. The extent of the information involved was not disclosed.
