What Changed Recently?

Notices are going out after the court preliminarily approved the settlement in Shahsavanpour v. Marex Group plc, et al., No. 1:25-cv-08393, on September 3, 2026. The lawsuit, brought under Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act against Marex, its chief executive officer and its chief financial officer, alleges the company made misleading statements about the “Securities” revenue line in its Market Making segment and a related volume measure. It alleges the stock fell about 6.2% on August 5, 2025 after a short-seller report by NINGI Research.

The defendants deny all wrongdoing, and the settlement is not an admission of liability.

Who Qualifies?

The class is everyone who bought Marex Group plc ordinary shares on Nasdaq or in another domestic transaction from November 7, 2024 through August 5, 2025. The defendants, Marex’s officers and directors during the class period, their immediate families, entities a defendant controls, and anyone who opts out are excluded.

How Much Can You Get?

Marex will pay $950,000 in cash, and none of it returns to the company. The notice estimates the average recovery at about $0.03 per affected share before fees and expenses. Lead counsel, Schall Brown & Schwartz LLP, will ask for attorneys’ fees of up to one-third of the fund, or $316,666.67, plus up to $75,000 in expenses, including up to $2,500 for each lead plaintiff, which the notice estimates leaves about half of the fund for investors.

Under the plan of allocation, the alleged inflation is $2.33 a share for purchases from November 7, 2024 through August 4, 2025. Shares sold before trading opened on August 5, 2025 receive nothing. For shares held after that, the recognized loss is limited by the sale price, or for shares still held at the close on October 31, 2025, by a $33.20 average closing price. Purchases and sales are matched first in, first out, claimants with an overall market gain receive nothing, and payments are made pro rata. No payment is made to a claimant whose share would be less than $10.

What Proof or Notice ID Is Required?

No notice ID is needed, but documentation is. The online claim form requires uploading brokerage records such as trade confirmations or monthly statements, and the notice says the parties do not have information about individual transactions. The form asks for the brokerage account number and the last four digits of the owner’s Social Security or taxpayer number, and a schedule of every Marex purchase and sale from November 7, 2024 through October 31, 2025, along with holdings at the start and end. Representative and institutional filers must use the administrator’s electronic template.

What Is the Deadline?

Claims are due January 11, 2027, by 11:59 p.m. Eastern online or postmarked by that date. Requests for exclusion and objections must be received by January 12, 2027.

How Do You Take Action?
