How Payments Work

After court-approved attorneys’ fees of up to one-third of the settlement value, expenses, and a service award of up to $2,500 for the class representative, the remaining fund is shared pro rata per account, based on the amount of covered fees paid. The notice says no one will receive more than the covered fees they paid during the class period, and most will likely receive less. Current customers receive an account credit; others receive a check. Former customers who have moved can report a new address to the settlement administrator, Strategic Claims Services. Payments go out only after the settlement is approved and any appeals are resolved, which the notice says may take several months or more.
