The Endo Opioid Personal Injury Trust, created in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of Endo International plc, says it began paying allowed personal injury claims in April 2026 and that payments are ongoing. The trust pays a claim only after it clears the lien resolution process, so claimants are being paid on a rolling basis rather than all at once. In its October 1, 2026 update, the trust said clearance emails to claimants without lawyers began going out on September 28, 2026.
The amounts are modest. The trust’s current estimate is a gross award of $390 for each allowed claim. Claimants who timely granted the non-GUC release also receive a multiplier of four times that award, $1,560, for a gross total of $1,950. Both figures are before administrative fees, any medical liens, and attorney fees and case expenses for claimants with lawyers.

Can I Claim?
No — filing closed May 23, 2024
Only people whose claims the trust allowed. To be eligible, a person had to file a proof of claim in Endo’s bankruptcy by the July 7, 2023 bar date and then submit a personal injury claim form to the trust by May 23, 2024, 30 days after the bankruptcy plan took effect. The claims cover injuries from use of an Endo opioid product before January 1, 2019, including claims brought on behalf of people who died.
The trust sent status letters on all timely claims by the end of May 2025. The award is a simple pro rata share of the money in the trust, divided by the number of allowed claims, which is why the per-claim figure could not be set until the trust finished reviewing deficiencies.
Under the trust’s distribution procedures, each allowed claimant must clear the lien resolution process before being paid. That process identifies any medical liens on the claim, which are resolved before the award is paid. The trust says the process is ongoing.
Claimants with lawyers are paid through their law firms. Claimants without lawyers receive an email from the trust administrator confirming their mailing address once their claim has cleared and is ready to be paid. The trust says it will not send those address emails until a claim has cleared.
Claims for neonatal abstinence syndrome go through the Endo NAS Personal Injury Trust. As of October 1, 2026, the NAS trust was still reviewing claims and running its deficiency process. Its current gross estimate is $385.65 per allowed claim, or $1,928.25 with the non-GUC multiplier, and it says those figures may change. Its page still carries an earlier estimate that NAS payments would begin in the first quarter of 2026; it has not posted a newer start date.
Endo’s plan was confirmed by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on March 22, 2024 and took effect on April 23, 2024. The personal injury trust is one of several opioid bankruptcy trusts paying individuals now. OCA covers the larger Purdue Pharma personal injury trust payments separately.
How much is the Endo opioid trust paying per claim?
As of its October 1, 2026 update, the Endo Opioid Personal Injury Trust estimates a gross award of $390 per allowed claim. Claimants who timely granted the non-GUC release also receive a non-GUC multiplier of four times that amount, $1,560, for a gross total of $1,950. Administrative fees, medical liens and any attorney fees and case expenses come out of those figures.
Why have some Endo opioid claimants not been paid yet?
The trust pays an allowed claim only after it clears the lien resolution process, which identifies any medical liens on the claim that must be resolved first. That process is still under way, so payments go out on a rolling basis as claims clear it.
Can new claims still be filed with the Endo opioid trust?
Filing is closed. To share in the trust, a person had to file a proof of claim in Endo’s bankruptcy by July 7, 2023 and a trust claim form by May 23, 2024. The current payments go only to people whose claims the trust allowed.
What is the non-GUC release in the Endo opioid trust?
It is an additional release that claimants could grant under the trust’s procedures. Allowed claimants who granted it on time receive the non-GUC multiplier, which the trust currently estimates at four times the base award. Claimants who did not grant it receive the base award only.
Are babies born with neonatal abstinence syndrome paid by the same trust?
Neonatal abstinence syndrome claims go through a separate Endo NAS Personal Injury Trust. As of October 1, 2026, it was still reviewing claims and running its deficiency process, with a current gross estimate of $385.65 per allowed claim, or $1,928.25 with the non-GUC multiplier, subject to change.
