Victoria's Secret Class Action Settlements Update — Here's What Happens Next
Steve Levine | Published: February 21, 2026
If you've been following the Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works class action settlements, you're probably wondering: did I miss out? Is there still money coming? And what should I actually do right now?
Here's the latest on every active case and exactly what consumers need to know going forward.
The big Bath & Body Works and Victoria's Secret receipt privacy settlement has officially paid out. If you filed a claim before the July 16, 2024 deadline, you should have already received a $15 voucher by email back in early March 2025. Shoppers who bought from both chains could have received two vouchers worth up to $30 total.
Even if you didn't file a claim, you may have gotten something. Consumers who used a My Bath & Body Works Rewards account or a Victoria's Secret branded credit card during the eligible period (May 10 – August 8, 2021) were automatically sent a $5 voucher.
What's next for you: Check your email — including spam and promotions folders — for messages from the settlement administrator. These vouchers were redeemable in-store at Victoria's Secret, PINK, or Bath & Body Works locations. The vouchers had an expiration date, so if you haven't used yours yet, it may have already expired.
If you never filed a claim and weren't an automatic member, this one is unfortunately closed. No new claims are being accepted.
This is the one Missouri shoppers should be watching closely.
Victoria's Secret was caught charging Missouri online shoppers the full combined sales tax rate (up to 8.74%) when orders shipped from out-of-state warehouses should have been taxed at the lower vendor's use tax rate (as low as 4.225%). That small percentage difference added up across roughly 900,000 affected customers.
The best part? You don't have to do anything. There's no claim form to fill out. The settlement administrator is using Victoria's Secret's own purchase records to identify every eligible consumer and calculate the exact amount of tax you were overcharged.
Anyone who bought physical products on VictoriasSecret.com between May 18, 2016 and May 18, 2023, had them shipped from outside Missouri to a Missouri address, and was charged tax above the applicable vendor's use tax rate.
The court granted preliminary approval in February 2025. The final approval hearing was scheduled for June 2, 2025. Payments should start going out approximately 121 days after final approval. Payments are being sent via PayPal to the email address tied to your qualifying purchases.
The per-person amounts will likely be modest — think $2 to $4 range depending on your purchase history — but the money comes to you automatically. Make sure the email address you used for VictoriasSecret.com purchases is still connected to an active PayPal account.
If there's leftover money in the fund, it goes to the Crime Victim Center of St. Louis rather than back to Victoria's Secret.

Victoria's Secret experienced a major cybersecurity breach on or about May 27, 2025. The company was forced to temporarily shut down its U.S. shopping website and corporate systems for several days. In-store services at Victoria's Secret and PINK locations were also disrupted.
The breach reportedly exposed customer personal information including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, state ID numbers, passport numbers, and financial account information.
Victoria's Secret delayed its quarterly earnings report as a result, though the company said the breach did not impact first-quarter results. The incident bore hallmarks of a ransomware attack, and cybersecurity analysts noted it followed a pattern of retail cyberattacks linked to the hacking group known as Scattered Spider.
A class action lawsuit was filed in June 2025 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. The plaintiff alleges Victoria's Secret failed to implement adequate cybersecurity measures and violated the Federal Trade Commission Act and state consumer protection laws.
This case has not reached the settlement stage. If you are a Victoria's Secret customer who was notified about a data breach or who noticed unauthorized activity on your accounts after May 2025, this case may be relevant to you.
Case: Wardle-Burke v. Victoria's Secret & Co., Case No. 2:25-cv-00618, U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio
A separate class action alleges Victoria's Secret sent unwanted marketing text messages to consumers in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). If you received unsolicited promotional texts from Victoria's Secret that you did not consent to, this case may be relevant.
This case also has not reached the settlement stage yet.
For the FACTA receipt settlement: Check your inbox for voucher emails from March 2025. If you had a voucher, use it — they expire. If you never filed, this one is closed.
For the Missouri tax settlement: Do nothing except make sure your PayPal is active on the email you used with VictoriasSecret.com. Money should be heading your way automatically.
For the data breach lawsuit: No action needed yet. Keep an eye on your accounts and monitor your credit if you were a Victoria's Secret customer affected by the May 2025 breach. We'll update this page when the case progresses.
And for the TCPA text message case? Stay tuned. If Victoria's Secret's track record is any indication, there may be more settlements on the horizon.
Is Victoria's Secret paying out a class action settlement?
Yes. The $15M FACTA receipt settlement already paid out $15 vouchers by email in March 2025. The $3.14M Missouri sales tax settlement is sending automatic PayPal refunds to an estimated 900,000 eligible Missouri customers. No claim form is needed for the Missouri settlement.
How do I get my Victoria's Secret Missouri tax refund?
You don't have to do anything. The settlement administrator is using Victoria's Secret's purchase records to identify eligible consumers and calculate refunds. Payments are sent via PayPal to the email address you used when buying from VictoriasSecret.com. Make sure that email is connected to an active PayPal account.
Who qualifies for the Victoria's Secret Missouri sales tax settlement?
Anyone who bought physical products on VictoriasSecret.com between May 18, 2016 and May 18, 2023, had them shipped from outside Missouri to a Missouri address, and was charged a tax rate higher than the vendor's use tax rate.
How much will I get from the Missouri tax settlement?
Amounts vary based on how much you were overcharged. Most payments are expected to be in the $2 to $4 range per person. Payments are calculated pro rata based on total overcharges and the number of eligible class members.
Did the Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works FACTA voucher expire?
Yes. The $15 vouchers were emailed in early March 2025 and had an expiration date. If you received one and didn't use it, the voucher has likely expired. The claim deadline was July 16, 2024, and no new claims are being accepted.
Was there a Victoria's Secret data breach?
Yes. Victoria's Secret experienced a cybersecurity breach on or about May 27, 2025 that forced the company to shut down its website and corporate systems. The breach exposed personal information including names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, and financial account data. A class action was filed in Ohio federal court in June 2025. No settlement has been reached yet.
Can I still file a claim for a Victoria's Secret settlement?
For the FACTA receipt settlement: no, the deadline passed. For the Missouri tax settlement: no claim form is required — payments are automatic. For the data breach lawsuit: no settlement has been reached yet and the case is still in litigation.
What is the FACTA receipt lawsuit about?
The lawsuit alleged that Bath & Body Works and Victoria's Secret violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) by printing more than the last five digits of customers' credit and debit card numbers on in-store receipts between May 10, 2021 and August 8, 2021. The settlement was worth up to $15 million.
