Thrasio, LLC, of Boston, Massachusetts, is recalling about 1.5 million Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Removers in the United States, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). About 43,700 additional units were sold in Canada. The recall, announced January 22, 2026, was assigned recall number 26-201.
The recall covers Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Removers in Fresh Clean Scent and Orange Twist Scent, sold in 24-ounce, 32-ounce, and one-gallon sizes. The bottles are orange and white with "Angry Orange" and "Stain & Odor Remover" printed on the front. Some units were sold as a bundle with a UV light that attaches to the spray bottle. The products were manufactured in the United States and sold nationwide and online between March 2019 and December 2025 for between $4 and $60 at major retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Target, The Home Depot, Meijer, Staples, TJ Maxx, Chewy, and AngryOrange.com.
According to the CPSC recall notice, the recalled products can contain bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an environmental organism found widely in soil and water. People with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions who are exposed to Pseudomonas aeruginosa face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment. The bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through broken skin.
No injuries or illnesses had been reported in connection with the recall at the time it was announced. The CPSC still advises consumers to stop using the product immediately because of the potential health risk to vulnerable individuals.
You are covered by the recall if you own an Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Remover in Fresh Clean Scent or Orange Twist Scent in any of the recalled sizes, including the units sold bundled with a UV light. Because the product was sold for nearly seven years at a wide range of national retailers and online, many households may have a recalled bottle on hand. You do not need a receipt to participate, and the refund is the same no matter where you bought the product.
Thrasio is handling the recall through the official Angry Orange recall page. There is no cost to participate:
• Stop using the recalled stain remover immediately
• Take a photo of the product with the word "recalled" and your initials written on it in marker
• One way to claim the refund is to email that photo to Thrasio — the recall contact email is listed on the official Angry Orange recall page, which also explains the other ways to reach the company
• Thrasio will issue a full refund
The photo of the marked product takes the place of a receipt, so you can still get a refund even if you no longer have proof of purchase. After photographing the product, you can dispose of it in its container with your household trash — do not empty the bottle first and do not recycle it.
Recalls involving widely sold consumer products sometimes draw class action investigations, and at least one proposed class action has been reported in connection with the contaminated Angry Orange stain removers. As of this writing, OpenClassActions.com had not independently confirmed a filed complaint, case number, or court. If a class action is confirmed — for example, on behalf of consumers seeking refunds or other relief — this page will be updated. For now, the recall remedy (a full refund from Thrasio) is the official path for affected consumers.
