What's This Settlement About?
Safeway stores has agreed to pay $20,000,000 (the “Settlement Fund”) to settlement a lawsuit in which it was alleged that Safeway willfully violated FACTA by printing point-of-sale receipts for
credit card and debit card transactions at its fuel locations (not the grocery stores) that
displayed more than the last five digits of the card number in violation of FACTA. FACTA, or the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act is an act passed by the US congress in 2003 that aims to improve consumer credit-related activities.
How Do I Qualify?
You are a class member if you are in the United States and between
September 12, 2017 and February 26, 2019 engaged in one or more transactions using a debit
card or credit card at any Safeway fuel location, and was provided an
electronically printed receipt displaying the first six and the last four digits of
the credit or debit card number you used in your transaction.
What Can I Get?
Safeway will pay $20,000,000 into a fund (the “Settlement Fund”). The final payment amount
will depend on the total number of valid and timely claims submitted by Settlement Class
Members, but Class lawyers representing class action settlement members estimate the payout will be somewhere between $18.00 and $36.00.

You must have submitted a Claim Form online no later than April 4, 2022, or you must have sent it by mail to:
