Lakeside Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine, P.L.L.C., a pediatric practice in northern Idaho, agreed to settle In re Lakeside Pediatric Data Breach Litigation, No. CV-28-26-1876, in the District Court for Kootenai County, Idaho. The case consolidates several suits filed on behalf of patients, most of them by parents on behalf of their children. The court preliminarily approved the settlement, and the claim period is now open.

The lawsuit alleges that in October 2024 a criminal third party gained unauthorized access to Lakeside Pediatric’s network and that files containing private information were potentially accessed. According to the court-approved notice, the files may have included names, dates of birth, driver’s license or state ID numbers, medical record numbers, diagnosis and condition information, lab results, medication information, health care claims and clinical or treatment information, and, for a limited number of people, Social Security numbers. Lakeside Pediatric denies all claims and liability, the court has not decided who is right, and the settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing.

Lakeside Pediatric pays those separately, so they do not reduce the cash benefits.
