What Changed Recently?
Playstudios US, LLC, the company behind myVEGAS and several licensed casino-style apps, settled a class action filed in the Circuit Court of Franklin County, Alabama, titled White, et al. v. Playstudios US, LLC. The case consolidates years of arbitrations and lawsuits in which players alleged that buying virtual chips in the company's games amounted to illegal gambling, and that players could recover their losses under the gambling laws of Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, New Jersey and Massachusetts. The settlement agreement was filed with the court on June 30, 2026, and the settlement website is now accepting elections.Playstudios denies all of the claims, denies that its games are gambling under any state's law, and agreed to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of further litigation. The court has not decided who would have won.
Who Qualifies?
The class covers people who spent money to play any of these eight Playstudios games — myVEGAS Facebook, myVEGAS Mobile, myvegas.com, Pop! Slots, myKONAMI Slots, MGM Slots Live, myVEGAS Blackjack and myVEGAS Bingo — while in one of six states during that state's class period:- Alabama: March 8, 2022, through June 30, 2026
- Ohio: July 26, 2022, through June 30, 2026
- Massachusetts: July 26, 2022, through June 30, 2026
- Tennessee: November 12, 2022, through June 30, 2026
- New Jersey: January 2, 2024, through June 30, 2026
- Kentucky: July 5, 2018, through June 29, 2023
How Much Can You Get?
Every class member receives something; the choice is the form it takes. Both options are calculated from your own spending, not split evenly:- Do nothing — free coins: in-game credits equal to 27% of what Playstudios kept from your purchases, delivered in installments over up to 24 months, starting within 30 days after the settlement takes effect.
- File an election — cash: a payment equal to 23% of what Playstudios kept from your purchases, by check, Zelle, PayPal or direct deposit.
As an OCA illustration only: a player who spent $100 during the class period would start from $70 after platform fees, so the cash election would be about $16.10 and the coin option worth about $18.90 — both before the fee and cost deductions, which the court has not yet set.
Cash is capped. All cash elections together cannot exceed 17% of the Total Settlement Amount; if they do, each cash payment is cut proportionally and the difference is paid in coins instead. Playstudios deposits $3 million into the settlement fund after final judgment and adds more as needed. Separately, Playstudios agreed to make its free-play feature at least as prominent as the prompt to buy more coins when a player runs low.
What Proof or Notice ID Is Required?
Yes. No receipts or Settlement Claim ID are needed, but the cash election cannot be completed without identifying your game accounts. The online election form asks whether you have a Settlement Claim ID; if you don't, choose the no-ID option and continue. The administrator says people who were notified by Amazon should also take the no-ID path.What you must provide:
- Every email address tied to your game accounts and to the Facebook, Apple, Google, Amazon or Microsoft accounts you played through (up to 20)
- The game and Player ID (or support code) for each game you made purchases in
- Pop! Slots and MGM Slots Live: tap the gear icon next to the back button in the lobby, then "Info." Accounts linked to Facebook or Apple use the support code; unlinked accounts use the User ID.
- myVEGAS mobile (Android, iOS, Kindle), myvegas.com and myKONAMI: tap the icon in the upper right of the lobby, then "Settings." The support code is about two-thirds of the way down.
- myVEGAS Classic: the support code sits below the game window, between "Support" and "Privacy."
- myVEGAS Blackjack: tap the three-line icon in the bottom left, then the gear. The support code is near the bottom.
- myVEGAS Bingo: uses a "BFID" instead, found under the Settings tab near the bottom.
- Can't log in: the number shown at the bottom of the error message is your support code or User ID.
What Is the Deadline?
The election deadline is October 21, 2026. Online elections must be submitted by 11:59:59 p.m. CST that day; paper election forms must be postmarked by October 21, 2026. If a timely form is incomplete, the administrator can give you up to 28 days after the deadline to supply the missing information. The same October 21 date is the deadline to opt out or object.How Do You Take Action?
The free coins require no filing. To get cash, go to the official election form, choose whether you have a Settlement Claim ID, enter your contact information, list your account emails and Player IDs, then pick a payment method and certify the form. The official Find My Game ID page repeats the ID instructions above.To opt out instead, send the administrator a signed written request by October 21, 2026, including your contact details and Player IDs; the settlement website explains where to send it. Opting out means no coins and no cash, but you keep the right to sue Playstudios on your own.
What Happens Next?
Class Counsel must file its request for attorneys' fees by October 7, 2026. Judge Brian P. Hamilton will hold the final approval hearing on November 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Franklin County Circuit Court in Russellville, Alabama. If the settlement is approved and any appeals are resolved, cash elections are to be paid within 60 days of the effective date, and the first coin installment follows within 30 days of it. Questions
Is cash or free coins the better choice in the Playstudios settlement?
The coin option is worth a larger percentage of what you spent (27% versus 23%), but it arrives as in-game currency over up to two years and only has value if you keep playing. Cash is worth a smaller percentage and can be cut back if total cash elections exceed 17% of the Total Settlement Amount, with any reduction paid in coins instead. Players who have stopped playing, or whose game account is inactive, generally get more real value from the cash election.
What happens to the coins if my Playstudios account is inactive?
Under the settlement agreement, if a class member's game account is not active on the distribution date, Playstudios waits 30 days. If the account is still inactive after that, the coins are treated as distributed. A player who no longer uses the account can protect their benefit by electing cash by October 21, 2026.
Can I file an election without a Settlement Claim ID?
Yes. The online election form offers an option for people who do not have a Settlement Claim ID. You then list every email address tied to your game and app store accounts and the Player ID or support code for each game you bought coins in. The administrator notes that people who got their notice from Amazon should use the no-Claim-ID option.
Does this settlement affect the Apple, Google, Facebook or Amazon social casino cases?
No. The settlement agreement states that the release has no effect on the claims in the separate platform cases against Apple, Google, Facebook (Meta) and Amazon over social casino games, and that those companies are not released by this deal.
What do class members agree to about future lawsuits?
Besides releasing their claims, class members who stay in the settlement stipulate that, with the game changes Playstudios agreed to make, the virtual coins in these games are gameplay enhancements rather than a thing of value under the six states' gambling statutes, and they are barred from arguing otherwise while those changes remain in place. Players who want to keep that argument must exclude themselves by October 21, 2026.
