A $1.09 million TCPA settlement paid up to $45 to people who received marketing texts from Ramsey Solutions (The Lampo Group) between November 2020 and October 2025 — but the February 19, 2026 claim deadline has passed and the settlement is now closed.

What Is This Settlement About?

A class action settlement was reached alleging that The Lampo Group LLC, the company behind Ramsey Solutions — Dave Ramsey's financial guidance company — sent marketing text messages without maintaining a proper do-not-call list. Under the deal, people who received those texts and filed a valid claim could receive up to $45 in cash from a $1,091,790 settlement fund.

The claim deadline was February 19, 2026, and the settlement is now closed, so new claims can no longer be filed. The Lampo Group denied all allegations and any wrongdoing; the court did not decide who was right, and the two sides agreed to settle. This page remains as a record of the case.

What Is Ramsey Solutions / The Lampo Group?

You may not recognize the name "The Lampo Group," but you almost certainly know the brand. The Lampo Group LLC does business as Ramsey Solutions — that's Dave Ramsey's company. Based in Franklin, Tennessee, it sells financial education products including courses, books, budgeting tools, and live events focused on getting out of debt and managing money. The company's flagship product is Financial Peace University, and it also runs The Ramsey Show, one of the most popular personal finance radio programs in the country.

If you ever signed up for anything Ramsey-related — a course, a free trial, an event, a newsletter — your phone number may have ended up in their marketing system. The lawsuit says the company then texted people about products and services without properly maintaining a list of people who asked not to be contacted.

Separately, Dave Ramsey and The Lampo Group are defendants in a $150 million class action over Ramsey's paid endorsements of the Timeshare Exit Team — an unrelated case in which the allegations remain unproven.

What Did the Lawsuit Allege?

The lawsuit alleged that Ramsey Solutions violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by sending text messages to people's cell phones without maintaining adequate internal do-not-call list procedures.

The TCPA is a federal law that puts rules around telemarketing calls and texts. One of the key requirements is that companies must keep an internal do-not-call list — meaning if someone tells the company to stop contacting them, the company is required to actually stop. The lawsuit claimed Ramsey Solutions didn't have proper procedures in place to make that happen, so people who may have asked to be removed kept getting texts anyway.

Who Qualified?

You qualified if you were in the United States and received at least one text message from The Lampo Group (Ramsey Solutions) about its products or services between November 22, 2020 and October 23, 2025.

People who received a postcard or email about this settlement had their phone number identified in the company's records as having been texted during that time period.

What Did You Get?

Each class member who filed a valid claim could receive up to $45 in cash. The total settlement fund was $1,091,790. After attorneys' fees, costs, and the service award were deducted, the remaining money was distributed to people who filed claims. If more people filed than the fund could cover at $45 each, the payments were reduced proportionally so everyone got an equal share. Any leftover money after all payments were processed went back to The Lampo Group.
