Flo Health App Privacy Settlement - What It Means for Past Users
A proposed $59.5 million class action settlement may provide payments to people in the United States who used the Flo Period and Ovulation Tracker app and entered menstruation or pregnancy information during the class period.
The case claims that sensitive health information was shared with third parties without proper consent. The companies involved deny wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and risk of continued litigation.
Important: the claim form is not open yet. Claims will only start after the court grants preliminary approval and the official claim portal goes live.
Latest Court Update Since September 2025
The motion asking the judge to preliminarily approve the settlement was filed on September 23, 2025.
In a late 2025 hearing, the judge criticized the low projected claims rate and pushed for stronger notice efforts so more eligible users actually hear about the settlement. Lawyers said they plan to expand outreach using email and additional notice methods.
As of January 2026:
• Preliminary approval has not yet been granted
• The claim form is not yet available
• No claim deadline has been announced
Who Qualifies for a Payout?
This settlement is expected to cover U.S. users who entered menstruation and/or pregnancy information in the Flo app between November 1, 2016 and February 28, 2019.
There is also a California subclass. If you lived in California during the class period and used the app the same way, you may receive a larger share compared to other U.S. users.
How Much Can I Get Paid?
Payments are expected to be pro rata, which means the money is divided among valid claims after court approved fees, costs, and settlement administration expenses.
• Nationwide class members receive one share
• California subclass members receive two shares
Your exact amount depends on how many people file valid claims and the net amount left after expenses.
Payout Example
This is just an example to show how pro rata payouts can work.
If the net remaining fund is $40,000,000 and there are 100,000 valid claims, including 10,000 from California, total shares equal 110,000. Each share would be about $363.64. Nationwide members would receive about $363.64. California members would receive about $727.27.
Who Is Paying the Settlement?
The proposed fund totals $59.5 million.
• Flo Health: $8 million
• Google: $48 million
• Flurry: $3.5 million
Is Meta Included?
No. Meta is a non-settling defendant and is not part of this settlement fund.
When Will the Claim Period Open?
The claim period is expected to open after the judge grants preliminary approval and the official settlement website posts the notice and claim form.
How Do I File a Claim?
When claims open, you will file online at the official settlement website or mail a paper form to the settlement administrator.
Expect the form to request basic information like your name and contact details, plus a sworn statement that you used the Flo app and entered menstruation or pregnancy information during the class period. California subclass members will also confirm California residency during the class period.
Do I Need Proof?
Proof requirements are listed as pending. Many privacy settlements rely on sworn attestations rather than requiring uploads like receipts or screenshots, but the final claim form will confirm the exact requirements.
When Will Payments Be Sent?
Payments are typically sent after final approval and claim processing. This can take several months after the claim deadline closes.
