Leesa, Helix, Bear & Brooklyn Bedding $110 Mattress Deceptive-Discount Settlement: How California Buyers Get Cash or Store Credit
PublishedJuly 15, 2026
If you bought a discounted mattress from Leesa, Brooklyn Bedding, Helix, or Bear while in California, you will automatically get a $110 store credit — or you can claim $110 in cash instead by September 25, 2026.
A California settlement resolves claims that Leesa, Brooklyn Bedding, Helix, and Bear advertised deceptive mattress discounts. The Defendants deny any wrongdoing.
Night US, LLC and Brooklyn Bedding LLC have agreed to a class action settlement resolving claims that they deceptively advertised discounts on mattresses sold through four websites: leesa.com, brooklynbedding.com, helixsleep.com, and bearmattress.com. The case is Brynn Grossman et al. v. Night US, LLC and Brooklyn Bedding LLC, Case No. 26CU017232N, in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Diego.
The lawsuit alleges the companies advertised discounts from reference prices in a way that violated California consumer-protection statutes, and it also asserts breach of contract, breach of express warranty, quasi-contract/unjust enrichment, and misrepresentation claims. The Defendants dispute the allegations, deny that they misled consumers or violated any law, and maintain their advertising was lawful — but agreed to settle to avoid the cost and risk of continued litigation. No court has decided who is right. If you qualify, you are entitled to a $110 award for each discounted mattress order — automatically as store credit, or as cash if you file a claim.

Who Qualifies?
The Settlement Class consists of all persons who, while physically in California or as California residents, purchased one or more mattresses advertised at a discount from the four websites during their applicable time periods:
• leesa.com: July 28, 2019 – March 11, 2024
• brooklynbedding.com: September 5, 2020 – March 31, 2024
• helixsleep.com: October 2, 2020 – March 31, 2024
• bearmattress.com: June 4, 2021 – April 1, 2024
Excluded from the class are anyone who validly opts out, government entities, counsel of record for the parties, the Defendants along with their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, service providers and their officers and directors, and the presiding judge and their immediate family. Each qualifying mattress order earns its own $110 award, so if you bought discounted mattresses from more than one of the sites, you are eligible for a separate $110 for each order.
How Much Can You Get?
Every Settlement Class Member is entitled to a $110 award for each qualifying discounted mattress order. You receive it one of two ways:
Store Credit (automatic). If you do nothing, you receive a $110 credit voucher for each qualifying order, usable on the website you purchased from. The vouchers are valid for three years from issuance, can be combined with any other sale or discount, are stackable, freely transferable between consumers, and have no blackout dates. They can also be applied toward shipping, taxes, and other fees.
Cash (by claim). Instead of store credit, you can elect $110 in cash — paid by check or electronic payment (Prepaid Mastercard, PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle) — by submitting a valid claim form by September 25, 2026. If you placed more than one qualifying order, you only need to submit one claim form to receive a cash award for each order; do not submit more than one. If you do not file a valid claim, you receive the store credit by default.
The parties estimate roughly 74,000 qualifying orders and about $8,163,000 in total benefits. Separately, the Defendants agreed to pay notice and administration costs of up to $40,000, incentive awards of up to $5,000 to each class representative, and attorneys' fees and expenses of up to $1,900,000, all subject to court approval. These amounts are paid on top of the class benefits and do not reduce the $110 you receive.
Store Credit or Cash — Which Should You Pick?
If you plan to buy from Leesa, Brooklyn Bedding, Helix, or Bear again, the automatic $110 store credit takes no effort, lasts three years, and can stack with other offers. If you would rather have money you can use anywhere, elect the $110 cash — but that is the only option that requires filing a claim by September 25, 2026. Miss the deadline and you default to the store credit for each qualifying order.
How to File for the Cash Payment
You only need to file if you want the cash. To elect the $110 cash award, submit a claim form online at the official settlement website, NightBBSettlement.com, or by mail, postmarked no later than September 25, 2026. To log in to the online claim portal you will need the Notice ID and Confirmation Code printed on the notice that was mailed or emailed to you, and you choose a payment method (Prepaid Mastercard, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or a physical check).
If you cannot find your Notice ID or Confirmation Code, use the contact page on the official settlement website to reach the administrator rather than filing blind. If you do nothing, you will automatically receive the $110 store credit for each qualifying order after the settlement is finally approved.
What Proof Do I Need?
No proof or claim is required for the automatic $110 store credit. To elect the $110 cash instead, filing the online claim requires the Notice ID and Confirmation Code from your notice, and you must attest under penalty of perjury that you made a qualifying California mattress purchase during the applicable time period. Because the online cash claim is gated on that administrator-issued identifier, this page treats the settlement as proof-required for the cash option. You do not need to upload receipts to receive the store credit.
Important Dates
• Cash Claim Deadline: September 25, 2026
• Exclusion (Opt-Out) Deadline: August 26, 2026
• Objection Deadline: August 26, 2026
• Final Approval Hearing: October 16, 2026, Department N-29, San Diego
Dates can change if the court adjusts the schedule. Check the official settlement website for current deadlines before you file.
What Are You Giving Up?
Unless you exclude yourself, you remain in the Settlement Class and are bound by its release of claims. That means that if the settlement is approved, you cannot sue or continue to sue the Defendants over the advertised pricing on the relevant websites that was alleged in this case, or claims arising from the same facts. If you want to keep the right to sue on your own, you must exclude yourself by August 26, 2026 — but then you receive no settlement benefit.
You qualify if, while physically in California or as a California resident, you bought one or more mattresses advertised at a discount from leesa.com (July 28, 2019 – March 11, 2024), brooklynbedding.com (September 5, 2020 – March 31, 2024), helixsleep.com (October 2, 2020 – March 31, 2024), or bearmattress.com (June 4, 2021 – April 1, 2024). People who opt out, government entities, counsel for the parties, the Defendants and their affiliates and officers, and the presiding judge and family are excluded.
How much money can I get?
A $110 award for each qualifying discounted mattress order — as $110 cash by check or electronic payment if you file a claim, or as a $110 store credit voucher usable on the site you bought from. The parties estimate about 74,000 qualifying orders and roughly $8,163,000 in total benefits.
Do I have to do anything to get paid?
Not for the store credit. If you do nothing, you automatically receive a $110 credit voucher per qualifying order, valid three years, stackable and transferable. You only need to file if you want the $110 cash instead, and that claim must be submitted online or postmarked by September 25, 2026.
Do I need proof or a Notice ID?
No proof is needed for the automatic $110 store credit. To elect the $110 cash, the online claim portal requires the Notice ID and Confirmation Code from your mailed or emailed notice, plus an attestation under penalty of perjury that you made a qualifying purchase. Because the online cash claim is gated on that administrator-issued code, this page is treated as proof-required for the cash option.
What are the deadlines?
September 25, 2026 to file a claim for the $110 cash; August 26, 2026 to exclude yourself or object. The Final Approval Hearing is set for October 16, 2026. Awards are distributed after final approval and once any appeals are resolved.
