$45M Roundup Weed Killer Class Action Is Paying Out Again - Update - November 2025

The $45 million Roundup Weed Killer class action settlement resolved claims that Monsanto, the maker of
Roundup®, HDX®, and Ace® weed and grass killers, failed to disclose important information about glyphosate,
a key ingredient alleged to pose potential health risks. This case was a **consumer false-advertising
settlement**, not a personal-injury lawsuit. That means people were compensated for purchasing the products
— not for illness or injury.
Under the class action settlement agreemnt, consumers who bought covered weed killer products for personal
use (not resale) in
certain states during specific time periods could file a claim. The settlement reimburses part of the retail
purchase price, typically around 20 percent of the Roundup product's cost. Monsanto denied any wrongdoing
but agreed
to settle to avoid ongoing litigation costs and uncertainty.
While the claims period has closed, eligible consumers are now receiving
funds in a second round of awards, depending on the payment method they selected when filing.
The Roundup consumer class action is closed to new claims. Payments are being sent to people who filed valid
claims on time. Methods include prepaid Visa cards, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, direct deposit, and paper checks.
Many claimants report two separate deposits. The first is a small prepaid card load around $3. The second is
a larger follow up deposit around $32 plus. Timing depends on verification and the method selected.
The first disbursments were sent in late 2024. This first disbursement often arrives as a small prepaid card
credit. We have
seen amounts of $3 to $32+ reported by claimants. It confirms the claim and the payment channel.
A second distribution follows. Claimants report up to $32.00+ prepaid award amounts, delivered by the same
method chosen at
filing. It can arrive days or weeks after the first credit. Some claimants get both waves on the same
prepaid card as two separate loads.
If you already received the first card or transfer, watch your inbox and spam folder for the second notice.
Digital wallet transfers can post faster than checks or physical cards.
Try activation again. Use the exact link or phone number in the administrator email. Make sure your name and
address match your claim.
Check the expiration. Virtual cards can expire. If it expired, ask for a reissue.
Ask for a reissue as a paper check. If activation fails or the card is locked, request a check or a
different digital method. Provide your claim info and the email used to file.
Verify the amount. Some cards load in two parts.
Keep every email. Share the original card email and dates with support so they can locate and reissue funds.
Closed, flagged, or mismatched accounts can bounce funds. Contact the payment provider to confirm whether
money was returned. Then contact the settlement administrator and request a reissue by paper check or
another method. Returned funds are usually not lost. Reissues can take time.
A $45 million consumer class action settled claims about certain Roundup, HDX, and Ace brand weed or grass
killers containing glyphosate. This is not a personal injury case. It concerns product advertising and
disclosures. Monsanto denies wrongdoing. The filing window is now closed. If you did not file earlier, you
cannot submit a new claim now.
Payments are about 20 percent of average retail price for covered products. Single unit payments range from
about $0.50 to about $33. Claims without proof were limited by units and state rules. People with proof
could claim more units. Actual amounts vary by product, units, state, and total valid claims.
