If you keep a wire-bristle Cuisinart brush by the grill, stop using it before your next cookout — a detached bristle can end up in your food, and Conair is offering a refund or a store credit worth 20% more.

What Is Being Recalled?

Conair LLC has recalled about 1.72 million Cuisinart metal wire bristle grill brushes because the wire bristles can detach from the brush head. A loose bristle can stick to the grill grate or to food and, if swallowed, cause an ingestion hazard and a risk of serious internal injury that may require surgery. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on July 2, 2026.

Conair says it is aware of at least 54 reports of bristles detaching from the brushes, including three reports of consumers who swallowed a bristle and sought medical treatment to have it removed. The remedy is a choice of a full refund or a larger credit at Cuisinart.com, and consumers should stop using the brushes right away.
