If you stocked up on Winco fireworks for the Fourth of July, check your leftovers before you light them — two popular products were recalled just before the holiday and can be returned for a full refund.

What Is Being Recalled?

Winco Fireworks International has recalled about 100,620 fireworks across two separate recalls that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on July 2, 2026, days before the July 4 holiday. Both products can malfunction in ways that create explosion and burn hazards, and both carry the same remedy: stop using them and return them to the store where you bought them for a full refund.

The two recalled products are the Unity 7-Shot 200-Gram Aerial Cake and the Roman Candles 8-Shot sold in 3-packs. There is no online claim form — the refund is handled at the place of purchase.

Unity 7-Shot 200-Gram Aerial Cake (Model MEF6096)

About 87,120 Unity 7-Shot 200-Gram Aerial Cake devices are covered. These fireworks can tip over while firing, sending aerial shots low along the ground and creating a risk of serious injury from explosions and burns. The model number MEF6096 and the date code — between 03.16.2026 and 05.18.2026 — are printed under the barcode on the back of the package. They were sold from January through May 2026 for between $6 and $8.

Roman Candles 8-Shot (3-Pack)

About 13,500 Roman Candles 8-Shot fireworks, sold in 3-packs, are covered by the second recall. These candles can malfunction and send shots out the side of the tube instead of firing them out the top, again creating explosion and burn hazards for anyone nearby. They were sold from April through June 2026 for between $17 and $19.

What Should You Do?

Stop using the recalled fireworks immediately. Do not try to set them off, even the leftover ones from the holiday. Return them to the store where you bought them for a full refund, which will be issued in cash or to your original form of payment. There is no online form and nothing to mail. For the exact refund process, check the official CPSC recall notices linked below. Store any recalled fireworks safely away from heat and children until you can return them.
