What Is Being Recalled?

Wagner Spray Tech Corp., of Plymouth, Minnesota, is recalling about 700,000 Wagner 900 Series power steamers in the United States, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). About 8,000 additional units were sold in Canada. The recall, announced March 19, 2026, covers three models: the 905e Auto Steamer, the 915e On-Demand Power Steamer, and the 925e Steam Machine Elite Steamer.

The steamers were sold at The Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, Target, HSN, and QVC, and online at Amazon and wagnerspraytech.com, from November 2018 through March 2026 for between $130 and $200. The model number is printed on the product. Consumers who own one of these steamers should stop using it immediately and request the free repair kit from Wagner.

Why Are the Wagner 900 Series Steamers Dangerous?

According to the CPSC recall notice, the attached hose can get excessively hot and the nozzle or gun can expel hot water during use and after the trigger is engaged, posing a serious burn hazard to consumers. Wagner received 156 reports of incidents in the United States, including more than 50 reports of burn injuries to consumers' arms, hands, feet, and faces — some of them first- or second-degree burns.

Handheld and power steamers have a recurring history of hot-water and steam burn recalls. For related coverage, see the BISSELL Steam Shot steam cleaner recall and the My Little Steamer recall and class action settlement.

Who Is Affected by the Wagner Recall?

You are covered by the recall if you own a Wagner 900 Series power steamer — the 905e Auto Steamer, the 915e On-Demand Power Steamer, or the 925e Steam Machine Elite Steamer. The model number is printed on the product. If you have one of these units, the CPSC says you should stop using it immediately. You do not need a receipt to participate, and the remedy is the same no matter where you bought the steamer.

How Do I Get My Free Repair Kit?

Wagner is handling the recall through a dedicated recall page. There is no cost to participate:

• Stop using the recalled steamer immediately
• Request the kit on the official Wagner 900 Series recall page
• Provide your shipping information so Wagner can send the kit
• Wagner will ship a free repair kit — a hose sleeve, a nozzle/handle cover, and a funnel

Wagner has noted that, due to high demand and supply-chain constraints, repair kits may take time to arrive after a request is submitted. The hose sleeve is designed to protect against excessive hose temperatures, the cover protects against hot handle and nozzle surfaces, and the funnel helps prevent overfilling the steamer base with water.

Could There Be a Wagner Class Action Lawsuit?

Recalls involving large numbers of burn injuries often draw class action and personal-injury investigations, and some law firms have publicized investigations into Wagner power steamer burn injuries. No class action complaint had been publicly confirmed as of this writing. If a lawsuit is filed — for example, on behalf of consumers who suffered burns — this page will be updated. For now, the recall remedy (a free repair kit) is the official path for affected owners.
